Is There Romance in Cyberpunk 2077?
V Can Romance Specific Characters
Cyberpunk is a game that features romance routes. There are four main romance storylines, but there are also side characters that V can form short-term relationships with.
Keep in mind that not all characters offer this option, and V can only pursue specific ones if the requirements for body type and voice tone are met.
How to Romance Characters?
To unlock romance routes for characters, you need to complete certain side jobs and follow the correct choices that can lead to the romance scenes.
Romantic Hangouts Update
Cyberpunk introduced Romantic Hangouts in their Patch 2.1 update. Players can invite a character with a completed romance route to V's apartment. During the hangout, you can interact with your partner by cuddling or talking with them.
No Romance Updates for Phantom Liberty
In Phantom Liberty, there are no additional romance options available for the new characters. You have the chance to be closer to them, but it won't develop into a romantic relationship or lead to any romantic scenes.
Romance Options for Male V
Panam Palmer

Panam is one of the characters who has a main romance route. She's an ex-nomad struggling in Night City, which doesn't treat nomads kindly since they view them as internally conflicted.
How to Romance Panam Palmert
V will first meet Panam in the Ghost Town quest. She will later appear in other quests and side jobs where V can further advance the romance route with her.

Panam's Romance Scene
The romance scene with Panam happens during the Queen Of The Highway side job. Enter the Basilisk with Panam and allow her to touch your thigh. Before ending this, you also have the option to kiss her goodbye.
Kerry Eurodyne

Another character that can only be romanced by Male V is Kerry Eurodyne. He's a talented musician with Filipino roots who considers Night City his most faithful muse.
How to Romance Kerry Eurodyne
Clear the Chippin' In side job first to unlock Kerry's romance route. They don't have any interaction here, but this step must be completed.

Kerry's Romance Scene
Kerry's romance scene happens during the Boat Drinks side job. Wreck the boat with Kerry and wait for the option to kiss him to show up. To continue the relationship with Kerry, reassure him that what you have is for the long term.
Romance Options for Female V
Judy Alvarez

Judy Alvarez is a character who works with the Moxes. She's an editor with an anarchist spirit who often remains silent in the face of injustice.
How to Romance Judy Alvarez
Judy will first appear in The Information quest. She will have more interactions with V in other side jobs.

Judy's Romance Scene
Spend the night with Judy at the cottage during the Pyramid Song side job to unlock her romance scene. Select "The beginning of something amazing" at the end to continue your long-term relationship with her.
River Ward

River Ward is a character who achieved his dream of being an NCPD Detective. However, this marked the start of his moral struggles. He still shows up for work with a can-do attitude.
How to Romance River Ward
River won't appear in the main quests, but V can interact with him in other side missions. Their first meeting will be in the I Fought the Law side job.

Unlock River's romance scene by accepting his invite during the side job, Following The River. Make sure to choose the "I feel good around you" dialogue to continue the relationship with him.

Rogue Amendiares

Rogue Amendiares is a character with whom V can have a short-term relationship. She's a former merc, now known as the queen of fixers in Night City.
How to Romance Rogue Amendiares
Players only need to finish the Chippin' In side job to be able to unlock Rogue's romance scene.

Rogue's Romance Scene
The romance scene for Rogue happens during the Blistering Love side job. To successfully execute this, take the pill and choose the "Do anything not to lose you." and "[Kiss] More than I expected." options.
Meredith Stout

Meredith works at Militech as a senior operations manager and is one of the short-term relationships V can pursue. She only makes a brief appearance in the game.
How to Romance Meredith Stout
To start the romance route with Meredith, V must accept the optional objective, Meet with the Militech Agent, in The Pickup quest.

Meredith's romance scene will take place during the Venus in Furs side job. Reply to her text message with "Shame. Wanted to get a closer look at your ink", then head to No-Tell Motel's room 6 and talk to her.
Other Romantic Encounters
Alt Cunningham
Alt Cunningham's romance scene is automatically triggered when you relive Johnny's memories during the Never Fade Away main quest. There are no requirements for body type, side job, or voice tone.
Joytoys
V can roam around Night City and meet Joytoys who can initiate romance scenes when paid. The price varies for each Joytoy, and they are marked on the map with the lips icon.
Can Romance Affect the Ending?
Romance Can Change the Storyline
Choosing the romantic partner you call during the Nocturne Op55N1 quest can impact the game's ending. Take note that the routes of Panam, Kerry, Judy, and River are the only ones that can affect the storyline.
Depending on the ending, they might end or continue their relationship with V. By building a strong relationship with your partner, you can also unlock a unique voicemail after the game's credits.
