As with the previous game's DLCs, new suits were introduced, which is why players expect new suits coming once the DLCs are announced and released.

Will There Be New Missions?

Perhaps.

Similar to the suits, the previous game's DLC also added tons of new content and missions. Based on this pattern, we can safely assume that once the DLC is released, there will be plenty of new things to do.

Will There Be New Storylines?

Probably.

Back in 2023, there were leaked DLC plans for Spider-Man 2 that were allegedly titled Beetle Invasion, Extreme Carnage, and Spider-Verse Anomaly, which are suspiciously similar to the previous game wherein the DLC also came in 3 different chapters.

However, these were only leaked due to an update glitch that enabled players to access developer commands, so it hasn't been confirmed yet. Nonetheless, many players have theories about what these DLCs could be based on their titles.

Beetle Invasion

The 1st title may signal the debut of a lesser-known Spider-Man villain, Beetle, aka Abner Jenkins. He is a mercenary and professional thief who is armed with a high-tech battle suit, along with various other weapons and gadgets.

Extreme Carnage

The 2nd title may involve Cletus Cassidy, a.k.a. Carnage, who was teased in the side quest line, The Flame, which ended with a cult leader escaping alongside a red symbiote, which is eerily similar to Carnage's backstory.

Spider-Verse Anomaly

The last title could then mean that a crossover could happen between the game and the Spider-Verse movie franchise, which may not be surprising to a lot of people since both are licensed by Sony.

Will There be New Characters?

We sure hope so.

There were many references in the game to various other characters in the Marvel Universe. Both Avengers Tower (Avengers), Baxter Building (Fantastic Four), and Sanctum Sanctorum (Dr. Strange) were present in the game.

There are also references to Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099) and the Nelson & Murdock Law Firm (Daredevil), so keep your eyes peeled for more sneaky hints and easter eggs.

When Will the DLC be Announced?

We don't know for sure.

As of the moment, there have been no announcements regarding any future DLCs or expansions. However, it has only been a few months since the release of the game as of writing. The New Game Plus update was also just rolled out, so the DLC will most probably not arrive anytime soon.

Despite all of this, players can still be hopeful that when a DLC does get released, an amazing experience will be waiting for them.

While not really a DLC, a massive update to the game was released on March 7. The New Game Plus update released new content to the game, such as suits, customization features, and new accessibility settings.

What is Spider-Man: The Great Web?

Spider-Man: The Great Web is not a Spider-Man 2 DLC. It was a cancelled standalone game that featured various Spider-Verse characters in a live-service multiplayer setting. It was leaked after Insomniac, the game studio responsible for the Spider-Man games, was hacked.

Concept art, presentations, and a trailer revealed the scope of the game, but ultimately fell through for unknown reasons. Some theorize that it may affect the studio's profits, as well as take up a large amount of resources to produce and maintain.

Nonetheless, the game was lost, despite many fans clamoring for its release.
