1Talk to Estevez and Collect Weapons
Once you switch to controlling Alan, make your way to Estevez and engage in a conversation with him. After the conversation, you can gather weapons and supplies from the nearby box.

2Head Towards the Parking Lot
With your collected weapons and supplies, advance toward the parking lot and defeat enemies along the way. After some time, a gate shrouded in darkness will appear. Use your flashlight to dispel the darkness by burning away the two orbs, allowing you to progress further.

Collect Supplies from the Wooden Crates with Outdoor Lights
Along the way, collect supplies from the wooden crates with outdoor lights. You can obtain ammunition and batteries, which are necessary for defeating enemies.

3Drive to Bright Falls
After arriving at the parking lot, head to Bright Falls by car. Once you arrive at Bright Falls, Alan proceeds to the Dark Place once again. -
4Pick up Alan's Novel from the Cardboard Cutout
After the scene changes, explore Bright Falls. Proceed forward until you find a signboard that says "ALAN WAKE RETURN." Examining it initiates a cutscene where Alan picks up his novel "Return."

5Avoid Cult Members and Exit from the Back of the Building
After obtaining the novel, head straight towards the exit at the back of the building. If you are attacked by the group wearing deer masks even once, you will be trapped in a loop and it will be game over. So, avoid them.

6Go to the Exit of the Wellness Center and Enter the Valhalla Nursing Home
After entering the Wellness Center, Alice faintly appears. She will lead you to an exit that leads to the Valhalla Nursing Home. As you get closer to the exit, Scratch appears. You will need to escape into a well-lit area without being caught by Scratch. Once Scratch is gone, head to the Wellness Center exit and enter the Valhalla Nursing Home.

7Have Ahti Open the Room on the 3rd Floor
After entering the Valhalla Nursing Home, head to the 3rd floor. Once on the 3rd floor, turn left. Ahti will appear and open the door to the Writer's Room for you.

8Examine the Typewriter and Obtain an Echo
After entering the Writer's Room, examine the typewriter on the desk. When you examine the typewriter, an Echo appears. You will then obtain the Pay the Price plot from Saga's voice.

9Rewrite the Scene on the Writing Board
After hearing Saga's voice, go to the writing board and rewrite the scene of the Writer's Room to Pay the Price. When you rewrite it, Return 8: Deerfest ends and you will switch back control to Saga Anderons.

Return 8 Collectibles
The Koskela Brothers Commercial
In Return 8: Deerfest, you can obtain The Koskela Brothers commercial "Return" Review by heading right from the starting position and going to the diner. This Koskela Brothers commercial is one of the collectibles required to obtain a trophy, so make sure to collect it in Return 8 after collecting the other five collectibles in Return 6.
