Alan Wake 2: Initiation 2: Casey Walkthrough

You will start as Casey and find yourself in the Dark Place. Move towards Caldera Street Station. There are many items scattered here. Make sure to collect them all while heading toward the station.

• Obtaining the map of Dark Place

  Procure the map of the Dark Place near the signboard where you start as Casey. Grab it before going forward.

Reach the end of the street for an event involving Alex Casey. Get the Flashlight and the Gun as Casey. Move towards the light afterward and use the Angel Lamp to collect it.

Drive the Darkness away with the Flashlight and Gun you just received. Some of the shadows won't be driven away by just light; use a combination of the Flashlight and Gun on them. You can also avoid them by pressing L1. Make your way back to the station.

Darkness will block your way on the stairs leading back to Caldera Street. Use the Flashlight to break off two nodes and clear a path to go through.

The Angel Lamp's light can unlock Caldera Street station as well as the elevated station's entrance. Before entering Caldera Street station, move through the elevated station. There you will find Words of Power, Echoes, and a Break Room.

• Talk to Tim Breaker and update the map

  Enter the building on the right side of the elevated station and you will encounter Breaker again, humming. Open the door to have a conversation with him. Your map will then be updated with points of interest in the Dark Place.

Deactivate the elevated station's Light Shift. Use the lamp at Caldera Street station and an entrance will appear. When you enter the station, Alan will say another light is needed. You should look for that light outside of the station, where there is a taxi.

There is a taxi in Caldera Street you can collect light from. Use the Lamp to gather its light and watch it transform into a patrol car. Be ready for the shadows of Darkness that will appear. Move back to Caldera Street station while fending them off with the Flashlight and Gun.

Collect the lamp light and enter Caldera Street Station to illuminate it. When it is flooded by light, doors to the platform will appear. Enter it by using the Subway Pass.

Align the Echoes once you enter the platform; there is a specific angle you may use to reach them. Listen to the echoes until the end to get the first Plot Element. These can be rewritten on the Plot Board in your Writer's Room.

Choose the FBI Agent plot element to rewrite the reality in Caldera Street Station. The appearance of the station will then change, allowing you more freedom to move.

The FBI agent's evidence will be found near traces of blood in the rewritten Caldera Street station. Follow them to move further along the subway and into the lower levels.

• Obtain the Subway map near the break room

  Move through the Subway Tunnel. Along the way, there is a Break Room, as well as Shoeboxes and save points. You will also find a Subway map near the Break Room. Make sure not to miss it.

A scene with the FBI agent is added upon entering the Collapsed Tunnel. Access the Plot Board in the Writer's Room and rewrite reality. Echoes will then appear, Align them in the right order to listen in on the whole conversation.

Deactivate the light shift in the main tunnel to find more Echoes. Listen to the echoes to receive a new Plot Element, Murder Cult.

When you deactivate the light shift in the main tunnel, Echoes will appear. When you listen to the Echoes until the end, you can obtain a new plot element, Cult Murder.

Return and rewrite reality in the Collapsed Tunnel with Murder Cult. An altar will appear in the area afterwards.

Return to the collapsed tunnel and rewrite reality with the plot element Murder Cult. Upon changing, an altar appears in the collapsed tunnel.

Navigate the Collapsed Tunnel to reach the narrow corridor. You will find it submerged in water, but Light Shift can solve this. Activate it to disperse the water and move past.

• Talk to Tim Breaker and update the map

  Move through the corridor to reach the nearby stairs. Climb them and you will hear humming. Open the door and get ready to greet Tim Breaker. Examine your map to upgrade with different points of interest in the area.

Reach the Derailed Train by climbing the ladder in the Break Room. Once you've arrived, rewrite reality on the Plot Board to get the Derailed Train scene.

Shadows will hound you in the room on the way to the Abandoned Station. This room is accessible from the Derailed Train. Listen for the Echo after defeating the shadows. It will lead you to the new plot element Torchbearers.

Use the Plot Board to rewrite the scene of the Derailed Train. Use the plot Torchbearers. Using this will cause the subway cars to become charred, but you can also pass through them now.

Go down the ladder and move towards the Abandoned Station. There is a Break Room in Shrine Street station. You should save and organize your items before moving forward.

There is a blocked path after descending the stairs at the Abandoned Station. Change the Light Shift in three directions to open it. Move deeper into the blocked path by turning the light shifts On and Off.

Avoid shadows while moving through Shrine Street station. Once you reach the central train, deactivate the light shift. This will usher you to the next scene, End of the Line.

Rewrite reality using the plot element Murder Cult once you've reached the End of the Line. This area becomes the Murder Cult hideout afterwards. Listen to the Echo and obtain a new plot element, the Summoning Ritual.

Head towards the Collapsed Tunnel once you've used Summoning Ritual to rewrite reality at the End of the Line. Be ready for multiple shadows to attack you. Rest in the Break Room first before moving toward the next area.

Rewrite reality at the collapsed tunnel using the Plot Element Summoning Ritual. Avoid touching the Dark Presence. Touching it will result in a GAME OVER. Open the door of the train nearest the tunnel to escape to the Break Room. This will cause the Dark Presence to disappear.

• Move straight from the Break Room to the tunnel

  If you manage to avoid the Dark Presence in the Break Room, you still have to be careful about being trapped in a loop. Crouch and move along the passage. This will help you move through the tunnel while avoiding the Dark Presence.

Investigate the Murder Site after moving through the tunnel. This will trigger Saga's event.

Move through the narrow passage extending from the Murder Site after finishing Saga's event. Return to Caldera Street Station. Head towards Parliament Tower (in front of the station) after exiting it. After entering, ride the elevator to clear Initiation 2.
