Alan Wake 2: Initiation 8: Zane's Film Walkthrough

After completing Initiation 7, go out into the city from the underground. Collect the Echo nearby to obtain information about Thomas Zane.

To obtain information about the Murder Site, head to Room 665 in the Oceanview Hotel. Reach there by taking the elevator on the first floor of the hotel.

Room 665 has a projector. Start it, then approach the screen and touch it to initiate the movie. You'll learn that Poet's Cinema is the next murder site.

Poet's Cinema is located at the bottom right of the map. Follow the path.

Hand over the Movie Ticket at the counter to open it and enter Poet's Cinema.

Once inside Poet's Cinema, collect the map posted in the rest area or near the counter. Go upstairs to the 2nd floor, collect the Echo near the overlook, and obtain the Cult of the Word plot.

Use The Cult of the Word plot and enter the adjacent room with a wall painted with the words "Cult of the World."

In the room, interact with the Echo and obtain the New York's Finest plot.

Switch to The Cult of the World plot in the lobby, and you will be able to enter the Theater Hall. After the lobby, let's explore the Theater Hall.

Switch to the New York's Finest plot from The Cult of the World plot in the Theater Hall. Go onstage to interact with the Echo and proceed with the story. Then, proceed to the projection room at the back of the audience seats.

Once upstairs, you will find that the projection room is locked. At its front door, you will find a police officer's badge. Examine it. After examining it, you will then need to find a way to enter the projection room.

Once you find a way into the projection room, return to the room downstairs and switch to The Cult of the Word plot. This will reveal an Echo with which you will interact and obtain the Clip of the Lost Film plot.

Switch to the Clip of the Lost Film plot in the Theater Hall. Several enemies will appear, and you will have to defeat them.

After defeating the enemies, use the Lamp Light in the room at the top of the Theater Hall. Then, transfer the light to the screen in the Theater Hall. A door in the Theater Hall to the alley will open.

Now, exit to the alley through the recently opened door. It is recommended to save and prepare items in the Break Room on the right after exiting to the alley.

Switch to The Cult of the Word plot in the alley, and you will learn that someone has died from falling off the rooftop. Next, let's find a way to get to the rooftop. Use The Cult of the Word plot.

The path leading to the rooftop opens when you switch to the New York's Finest plot. After changing to New York's Finest plot, a patrol car appears.

Switch to New York's Finest plot and use the Angel Lamp to take the light from the patrol car. Next, enter the recess in the parking space in front of the Break Room. While in the recess, use the Angel Lamp again and the staircase leading to the rooftop will appear.

Go upstairs to find Tim on the rooftop. Use the yellow tape on the ground as a marker, bend down, and pass under the wire mesh passage to enter the room where Tim is. In Tim's room, you will obtain several items and an additional map with detailed information.

After obtaining Tim's map, head towards the ladder at the back of the rooftop. Descending from the ladder will take you to a location where you can overlook the jumping point.

After descending from the ladder, switch the plot to The Cult of the Word plot. An echo will appear, so collect it to obtain The Grandmaster plot.

After obtaining The Grandmaster plot, return to the Theater Hall. Switch to The Grandmaster plot in the Theater Hall, and a door will appear on the screen.

Let's head towards the area under the door that appeared on the screen, now changed to The Grandmaster plot. The door leads to the projection room.

In the gray space, you will repeat similar scenes several times before being able to proceed. Continuously search for doors and move forward to find Alex Casey.

At the end of the loop, there is a man wearing a deer mask. Take the knife behind the man and try to stab him, then the man disappears and a path opens up.

Keep moving forward the path. Collect the Echoes along the way, until you reach a room filled with shelves of film tapes. At the end of this room is a fallen shelf. Crouch and proceed under the fallen shelf, there will be a hanging corpse once you pass through the fallen shelf.

Once you find the hanging corpse, take off its deer mask. After removing the deer mask, a movie will play. This marks the completion of Initiation 8: Zane's Film.
