Damage Fluctuates with Element Compatibility
Elements in Palworld have compatibility, meaning attacks from advantageous elements deal increased damage, while attacks from disadvantageous elements deal decreased damage. The attack element is determined by the skill's element. So, compatibility depends on both the skill's element and the element of the Pal receiving the attack.
Dual-Element Pals Have Two Weaknesses
Pal | Element | Weakness |
---|---|---|
Gumoss |
Grass Type Ground Type |
Fire Type Grass Type |
Pengullet |
Water Type Ice Type |
Electric Type |
Pals with two elements may have one or two weaknesses. For instance, Gumoss, with Grass and Ground elements, is weak against Fire and Grass elements. Pengullet, which has Water and Ice elements, cancels out the advantage and disadvantage against Fire. As a result, Pengullet only receives normal damage from Fire-type attacks.

Effects of Elements
Attacks against Vulnerable Elements Increases the Damage
Attacking enemies with an elemental advantage increases the inflicted damage. The enemy Pal's element appears next to its name. So, it is advisable to evaluate the opponent's element and use a Pal that counter it.
Attacks against Buffed Elements Decrease Damage
Attacking enemies with an elemental disadvantage reduces the inflicted damage. Utilize this knowledge to weaken wild Pals you aim to capture. Understanding element compatibility is advantageous in this regard.
