Palworld: How to Move Bases

This is your guide to moving bases in Palworld. Learn how to relocate bases, increase the number of bases, and dismantle bases with ease.
Preparation for Efficiently Moving the Base

Raise Base Level to 10 or higher
To efficiently proceed with base movement, raise the base level to 10 or higher and increase the number of bases that can be built. By placing a Palbox in the new base, you can travel between the original base and the new base using Fast Travel. Since Palbox can be designated as a Fast Travel or Respawn point, it makes it easier to move supplies.
Change Settings to Disable Death Penalty
If it is possible to change the world settings, change the Death Penalty to No Drops. With no Death Penalty, you won't drop items or Pal when you die, so you can easily move supplies by respawning whenever you become overweight.

If you can't change the world settings, use the Grappling Gun. With the Grappling Gun, you can move even when you're overweight. After picking up the materials, you can move to the Palbox without adjusting the weight, which shortens the time for organizing your belongings.

1Place Palbox and Chest at the new location
First, let's place the Palbox and Chest at the destination of the base relocation. It is recommended to place the Chest near the Palbox so that you can store items without moving after Fast Travel or Respawn.

2Destroy all buildings at the original base
Once the preparation at the new location is complete, destroy all the buildings at the original base. Buildings can be destroyed by entering building mode with the B key and then switching to demolition mode with the C key. All the materials used for the buildings will be returned, so there is no need to worry about material loss.

3Collect materials at the original base until you are overweight
Once you have destroyed all the buildings, pick up materials until you become overweight. However, if you want to move to the Palbox without using Respawn or Grappling Gun, it is recommended to pick up materials just before becoming overweight.

If the Death Penalty server setting is set to No Drops, respawn and move to a new base. Open the Options menu, select Respawn, and choose the new base.

If you cannot change the server settings, use the Grappling Gun to get close to the Palbox and then use Fast Travel to move to the new base. With the Grappling Gun, you can ignore being overweight and still move.

The Cooldown of the Grappling Gun is unique to each weapon, so it's convenient to have two Grappling Guns. When you can't move with one, switch to the second one and continue moving.

5Store materials in a Chest in your new base
Once you have moved to the new base, open the Chest near the Palbox and store the materials. If you have a variety of materials, it is recommended to place additional Chests.

6Repeat steps 3 to 5.
Repeat steps 3-4 and complete the transportation of items between bases. As the development level of the base increases, the workload increases, so it is recommended not to place too many supplies when using a temporary base.

7Dismantle the Palbox in your original base
After completing the movement of supplies, dismantle the Palbox at the original base. To dismantle a base, open the map, hover over the base with the cursor, and press the V key to execute. Note that if you dismantle the Palbox before transporting the supplies, you will no longer be able to Fast Travel to the original base, so it is best to dismantle it last.

The number of buildable bases can be increased by raising the base level. Until Base Level 9, the maximum number of bases that can be built is 1, so it can be time-consuming to relocate. To achieve Base Level 10, iron is required.

Base Level is Maintained
Even if a base is demolished, the base level is maintained. There is no need to raise the base level again, so you can rest assured.
Pals are Stored in the Palbox
When a base is demolished, the Pals that were in the base are stored in the Palbox. Even if they were outside the base, the Pals will not disappear, so you can rest assured. However, if the Palbox is full and cannot store the base's Pals, the base cannot be demolished.

When a base is demolished, Pal-related structures such as Breeding Farm and Egg Incubator, as well as some production facilities, are destroyed. Buildings that can be placed outside the base, such as Chests and Foundations, will not be destroyed.
