Which Sphere Should I Use?

Pal Spheres

In Palworld, you need Pal Spheres to catch the various Pals roaming in the wild. However, Pals get stronger as you progress through the game, which means you also need to get stronger as well in order to catch them. Therefore, you need to use higher quality Pal Spheres to catch better Pals!

Here's a table to guide you on what Pal Sphere you should use when catching Pals.

Your Mileage May Vary

It's important to note that this might not be the case for every Pal, as there are extremely strong Pals that require a higher Pal Sphere to be caught, despite being relatively low-levelled. The current HP of the Pal also plays a role in how easy it is to catch, so try to get them as low as possible without killing them.

Increase Catch Power

There is also the case of increasing one's catching power through offering Lifmunk Effigies at the Statue of Power. However, this feature is bugged as of writing. Stay tuned for more updates.

Use Various Launchers

Pal Sphere Launchers

You can also use a variety of launchers with different effects to aid you in catching Pals.

Launchers are Currently Bugged

However, please note that there are some player reports that launchers are bugged and significantly reduce catch rates. Until a fix is implemented, keep testing it out first before regularly using launchers.

Pal Sphere Recommendations

Use the Appropriate Pal Sphere for your Level

As a rule of thumb, you should use Spheres a tier higher than the Pal you want to catch. This will make sure that the catch rate is comfortably high, leading to less material waste in the long run. It also won't force you to whittle down a Pal's healthbar dangerously low in order to catch it.

Make Efficient Use of your Materials and Resources

Spheres and other late-game items like ammo, and equipment require tons of materials, which is why it is important to efficiently manage your resources.

Ultra & Legendary Spheres require lots of Carbon Fiber. You can use Charcoal to create it, but it's better to use Coal instead, since Charcoal is used for Gunpowder. It also costs 5 Charcoal to craft Carbon Fiber, while you only need 2 with Coal.

Hidden Sphere?

Data miners found a new Pal Sphere called a Radar Sphere in the game's code. It's labeled as PalSphere_Robbery, hinting that it allows users to steal Pals from others.

While there's debate about its usage against other players, it's more probable that it will be used to steal from NPCs like Tower Bosses or other enemies later on. If it does allow you to steal other players' Pals, it should open up more options for PvP.
