Learn how to set the difficulty level in Palworld with this guide. Includes the recommended difficulty level and why you should set them.
Recommended Difficulty Levels
Difficulty Level | Details |
---|---|
Casual | ・EXP rate, Pal Capture rate, Gatherable Items Multiplier, and Egg Incubation speed are increased ・Combat becomes easier ・No Death Penalty |
Normal | ・All game balances are set to standard ・Items are dropped at the location upon death |
Hard | ・EXP rate, Pal Capture rate, Gatherable Items Multiplier, and Egg Incubation speed are decreased ・Damage dealt is reduced, and damage taken is increased ・Items and pals are dropped upon death |
Custom | ・Game balance can be adjusted by the player |
Strongly Recommend Casual Difficulty
We strongly recommend the Casual difficulty level, which has no Death Penalty. This is because if you die in a location that is normally inaccessible due to bugs such as wall clipping, you may not be able to retrieve your items and pals.
No Death Penalty in Custom Difficulty is Also Okay
If you don't want to lower the difficulty of combat and base development, you can set the Custom difficulty to have no Death Penalty. While Custom allows you to freely adjust many aspects, it can be time-consuming, so we recommend adjusting it based on the Normal difficulty.
How to Change Difficulty Levels
Set During World Creation
Difficulty levels are set during world creation. During world creation, you can set the world name, multiplayer on/off settings, and difficulty settings.
