By using the grappling gun, you can move even when you are overweight. This can be useful when carrying minerals such as ore or coal.
If You Don't Have It, Drop Items While Moving
Even if you don't have a Grappling Gun, you can still move while being overweight by repeatedly dropping and picking up items. This can be useful when you want to move short distances, such as reaching a Chest.

No Fall Damage While Riding
When riding a Pal, you will not take fall damage. Therefore, if you want to quickly descend from a high place, ride a Pal and then jump off.

NPCs can also be captured with Spears
Other than Pals, NPCs can also be captured with Spear-type items. By capturing merchants and black market dealers and placing them in your base, you can use their shops anytime.

By using this bug, you can capture Tower Bosses. Note that capturing bosses is not officially implemented in the game and it is done at your own risk. In multiplayer servers, it may cause inconvenience to others, so it is especially not recommended.
