Features of the Combat System

Two Combat Modes

Samurai Approach: Swordplay Mechanics

Swordplay Action

In the samurai approach, the focus is on swordplay action, where you deflect enemy attacks and defeat them with your sword. During battles, you can change your stance and fight with different combat styles depending on the situation. Countering and parrying are essential strategies to deal with enemy attacks.

Ghost Approach: Stealth Gameplay

Assassination

In the Ghost Approach, you play as a ghost. Take down unaware enemies from behind or above. When a successful assassination goes unnoticed, you can swiftly eliminate nearby enemies with consecutive strikes.

Standoff

Duel

Nate Fox, the developer, explicitly stated in an interview that there is a duel system in the game. With the perfect timing of your attacks while your enemy strikes, you can defeat enemies with a single blow. Failure to do so will deal significant damage to you.

Utilize Various Items in Battle

Grappling Hook

In addition to swordplay, this game offers various actions such as shooting enemies with a bow, distracting enemies with firecrackers, and swiftly defeating distant enemies with throwing knives. The image above shows a scene where the protagonist is using a grappling hook to jump onto a ship.
