Recommended Uses of Incendiary Oil

Use against enemies with high health

Using Incendiary Oil allows you to set your blade on fire and ignite enemies when you attack them. It is recommended to use it against enemies with high health, such as Mongol leaders and strong soldiers. However, if your attack is blocked, you won't be able to set them on fire, so it's best to use it right after destabilizing the enemy.

Combine with other techniques

Even when your blade is set on fire using oil, you can still use other techniques. After using oil, it is recommended to perform powerful attacks like the "Heavenly Strike" or the "Dance of Wrath" to deal even more damage.

Effects of Incendiary Oil

Activation of the Way of the Flame

Using oil activates the mythic technique called the Way of the Flame. While the technique is active, your attacks will continuously inflict burning damage on enemies, making it effective against enemies with high health.

Equipping Incendiary Oil

Equipping with R2 and right on the D-pad

The Incendiary Oil can be equipped by pressing R2 and right on the D-pad. Once equipped, press the R1 button to set your blade on fire.

How to Obtain the Incendiary Oil

Clear the Legend "The Undying Flame"

You can obtain the Incendiary Oil by clearing the mythic tale, "The Undying Flame," which can be accepted by heading north towards Mount Jogaku. The tale can only be accepted after clearing the "Honor and Ash" of the main story. Progress first through the main story until you reach the upper prefecture.
