The Confrontation Collectibles
No collectibles, only 3 consecutive encounters with Ellie
In The Confrontation, there are no collectibles, but you will engage in 3 consecutive encounters against Ellie. It's a challenging boss fight where approaching Ellie while she's not stunned will result in instant death. You will likely have to restart several times. The key is to use throwable objects to stun Ellie and then finish her off with a square button prompt for a Strike.
The Confrontation Walkthrough
| 1 | Climb the ladder on the outside wall of the theater. |
| 2 | Enter the theater and proceed straight to the first floor. |
| 3 | Head towards backstage via the audience seats. |
| 4 | Defeat Ellie 3 times. |
Beat Ellie Three Times
Once you step into the theater, it's finally a one-on-one against Ellie. You cannot defeat Ellie with regular attacks, and if you approach her from the front, she will always take the initiative and kill you instantly. Keep track of Ellie's position by listening carefully and then using throwable objects to ensure Strikes.
Tips for Defeating Ellie
First Phase: Approach from behind then Strike
In the first phase, move in a crouched position in the shadow of the building and slowly approach Ellie from behind to perform a Strike. Running will alert Ellie, so only move while crouched. Use listen mode frequently to determine Ellie's position and direction.
When you successfully land a Strike, you will grapple with Ellie and fall into the underground. After avoiding Ellie's attack with L1, you'll start the next phase.
Second Phase: Distract with throwable objects
In the second phase, you can defeat Ellie, like before, by approaching her from behind and performing a Strike. However, there are a lot of obstacles in the underground, so it's easier to defeat her by using throwables, such as bottles.
First, pick up a bottle then move near other throwables. Throw the bottle to attract Ellie's attention. Throw another item at her, then while she is stunned, quickly dash towards her and perform a Strike.
Final Phase: Be mindful of Ellie's Trap Mine and approach carefully
In the final phase, Ellie will set up Trap Mines on the floor. By listening carefully, you can hear the sound of her setting them up and determine their location. If the mines are placed in narrow areas, you can disarm them by throwing objects at them from a distance.
As the fight goes on, there will be more mines so try to end it quickly. Just like in the second phase, start by luring Ellie with a thrown object. Pick up a second throwable, approach her from behind, throw it at her to stun her, and then perform a Strike to defeat her.
