Where to Put a Hat on Your Companion
The Birthday Gift - Dinosaur Exhibit
You can put a hat on your companion at the dinosaur exhibit of The Birthday Gift during Seattle Day 2. You can do this by putting a hat on Joel at the dinosaur exhibit of the museum.

Steps to Put the Hat on Joel
| 1 | After entering the museum, examine the hat on the right. |
| 2 | Move further inside the museum and into the dinosaur exhibit. |
| 3 | Put the hat on a dinosaur. |
| 4 | Take the hat from that dinosaur and put it on another dinosaur. |
| 5 | Take the hat from the second dinosaur and put it on Joel. |
Getting the Hat
As soon as you enter the museum, there is a hat hanging on the right side. Approach the hat and press the △ button to pick it up.
Getting it from under the stairs
The hat can also be found under the bench below the stairs in the dinosaur exhibit. Even after putting the hat on Joel, you can put it on again.
Putting the Hat on the Dinosaurs
Approach the head of the dinosaur and put the hat on it. The dinosaurs that can wear the hat are the Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Dimetrodon.
Putting the Hat on Joel
After putting the hat on two dinosaurs, you can put it on Joel. Approach Joel while Ellie is wearing the hat, and press the △ button to put the hat on Joel.

Get the Looks Good on You Trophy
To get the Looks Good on You trophy, you need to put a hat on your companion. Therefore, you can get it by putting a hat on Joel. The Looks Good on You trophy can only be unlocked here, so if you miss it, you have to replay the chapter again through chapter selection.

Listen to Conversations Between Joel and Ellie
By wearing the hat and putting the hat on the dinosaurs, you can listen to conversations between Joel and Ellie. If you want to see the parent-child-like interaction between Joel and Ellie, try putting on the hat.
