In The Confrontation boss battle, Ellie will instantly kill you if you attack her head-on, so you must approach her from behind. Use R1 to check Ellie's position, crouch, and move closer behind her to perform a Strike.

Increase the chances of a Strike by stunning her with a bottle

When approaching Ellie from behind, she may still notice you. Therefore, throw a bottle at Ellie to stun her. Once Ellie is stunned, dash towards her and perform a Strike. It is also recommended to throw another bottle beforehand to distract Ellie enough to circle behind her.

Always keep track of Ellie's position with R1

Ellie has powerful attacks and moves quickly, so always use R1 to enter listen mode and keep track of her position. Additionally, you can use R1 to locate the bombs she sets up in the third phase, allowing you to avoid them. Stay alert and listen carefully to avoid the bombs.

When spotted, dash away instead of attacking

In the battle against Ellie, if she spots you and you attack, you will be instantly killed. Therefore, even if Ellie spots you, refrain from attacking and instead dash away to regroup.

Sneak up from behind and Strike

In the first phase against Ellie, she has slow movement speed. Use R1 to assess her position, crouch, and sneak up behind her to perform a Strike. After landing a few hits, the next phase will begin.

Tips for defeating Ellie's second phase

Throw a bottle to stun her then Strike

In the second phase against Ellie, the area becomes larger and there are more throwable objects like bottles scattered around. Start by using a bottle to lure Ellie and then sneak up behind her.

For a more guaranteed takedown, throw another bottle at her from behind to stun her after luring Ellie with a bottle. Then quickly dash towards her and perform a Strike.

Tips for defeating Ellie's final phase

Listen carefully using R1 to locate the bombs

In the final phase, Ellie starts setting up Trap Mines on the floor. Stepping on the bombs will result in instant death, but you can find them using R1. Additionally, you can follow Ellie's movement using R1 to help you guess where she set up the bombs. Make sure to find the bombs to avoid triggering them.

You can also disarm Trap Mines by throwing projectiles at them from a distance. If there are too many to avoid, throw a bottle or something similar from afar to trigger and disarm them.

Startle Ellie by detonating a bomb when she is nearby

If Ellie is near a Trap Mine, you can startle her by using a throwable to detonate the bomb. Once she is startled, dash towards her and perform a Strike.

Throwing a bottle to stun her still works

Just like in the second phase, throw a bottle to stun Ellie and then quickly approach her for a Strike. The longer the encounter goes on, the more Trap Mines will be set and the harder it will be to get near Ellie. Try to end the final phase quickly.
