Introduction to Guard Dogs

Patrolling WLF soldiers are accompanied by enemy dogs in the Hillcrest section. These guard dogs can track Ellie's scent, throw bottles as a distraction, and don't stay in the same place for too long to stay undetected.

Snipe the Dog Owner First

Silently snipe the dog's owner with a Bow or Silencer. The dog will stay in place for a short period, making them an easier target. For efficient takedowns, always eliminate the person with the dog first.

Make Use of the Bow

Make use of your new weapon in Hillcrest. There are instances when you have to fight multiple enemies, so eliminate them silently from a distance using the Bow. Gain advantage of the area, hide in the grass, and wait for the opportunity to snipe.

Hillcrest Walkthrough

Avoid WLF Soldiers and Guard Dogs

Jump into the bushes near the building to avoid the patrolling WLF Soldiers with their dogs. Get the bottle to your right and throw it towards the back of the room to distract them. Grab this chance and leave. Keep using this strategy to avoid being caught until you reach the red door.

Dumpster as Platform

After passing through the Patrol Area, continue ahead and use the dumpster as a platform to cross the fence. Quickly press the X button to stay on top and avoid sliding down.

Open the Garage Safe

Get the Holster in the Garage Safe at the back of Velvet Tattoo Parlor. Make sure to drop by since Holsters are useful when switching between weapons.

Place a Trap Mine by the Fence

Several infected will come out when you enter the garage. Set up a Trap Mine in advance by the fence to your left.

Open the garage door after placing the Trap Mine, climb over the fence, then retreat on the roof of an abandoned car. Throw Molotov Cocktails to defeat the remaining infected.

Get the Training Manual at the Toy Store

You can get the Precision Training Manual at the toy store near the Goldstar Liquor. Go down to the basement of the liquor store, defeat the Shambler, and pass through the hole in the wall to reach the toy store.

Escaping the WLF Patrol Area Guide

Go to the Garage Behind the House

After getting the bow, head to the WLF Patrol Area. Go inside a garage with a gray door behind the house to your right. Cross the fence to begin your escape. Make use of the bow to silently attack enemies.

Get the Reverb Trading Card

You can get the Reverb Trading Card inside the two-story house on the right side of the road. Defeat the patrolling WLF Soldiers inside, then crawl under the bed on the second floor to collect the card.

Eliminating the Dog's Owner

The Guard Dogs are challenging opponents due to their ability to call reinforcements and their high attack power. Silently kill the owner first to make the dog an easier target.

Defeat the WLF Enemies

The WLF Patrol Area escape begins after crossing over the fence. Remain undetected by using stealth takedowns with your Bow and Silencer. Take initiative and avoid being attacked when there is a sniper on the roof.
