Third-Person Survival Action
From a third-person perspective, you control Ellie in the game, utilizing various weapons like firearms, melee weapons, and throwable objects to combat the infected and enemy factions. Defeating every enemy isn't always necessary; in some instances, you can avoid them and focus on reaching your objective.

Battle System Explanation
Use a Variety of Weapons
There is a variety of weapons used in this game, such as firearms and bows. As you progress through the story, you'll unlock more. Select and upgrade your weapons based on your preferred gameplay.
The basic combat includes aiming with L2 and shooting with R2. When enemies get close, you can use ◻ for melee attacks and L1 to dodge.

Use Stealth Skills
Perform stealth skills by approaching enemies from behind. It would be dangerous if you are spotted because all nearby enemies will enter combat mode.
Additionally, you can use throwable objects for distraction. Gain an advantage by luring enemies towards the sound.
Use Listen Mode to Locate Enemies
Use your listen mode ability by holding the R1 button. You can keep track of the enemy since their position will be visualized through the wall.
Additionally, in listen mode, you can see your scent trails. Dog enemies can track you through scent, so use this ability to determine the best route to take.

Crafting System for Items
Gain an advantage in battles by utilizing the crafting system. Combine resources to create powerful items like Molotov Cocktails and explosives, which can inflict damage on multiple enemies within range.

Recover with Health Kits
There's no automatic way to recover health; you need to find and use Health Kits. You can get this item by picking up dropped ones or crafting them.
Recover with Dropped Healing Items
Apart from Health Kits, there are healing items scattered throughout the map. Picking them up restores a small amount of health. These cannot be carried, so they cannot be obtained when you have maximum health.
Training System Explanation
Strengthen Characters with Skill Trees
Unlock character skills by using supplements found throughout the map. There are multiple skill trees like Stealth, Survival, Crafting, and more. Strengthen them according to your gameplay.

Types of Enemies
Infected
The Infected are individuals who have fallen victim to a parasitic fungus, displaying hostility to any humans they come across. Those who get bitten will also become infected.
Their form, appearance, and behavior change depending on the degree of fungal infestation. Each type of Infected has unique characteristics; it's crucial to understand how to defeat each type to efficiently combat them.

Survivors
Survivors are people who are fighting against the infected. Among them exist various organizations and forces fighting for power in Seattle, and these two distinct factions clash with Ellie on her journey. They both have different ways of fighting, so adjust your approach depending on which faction you are fighting against.
Washington Liberation Front (WLF / Wolves)
The Washington Liberation Front is a militia group armed with stolen military weapons and holds control over most of the city. Their patrols are often accompanied by trained military dogs, which can sniff out intruders with their keen sense of smell.

Seraphites (Scars)
The Seraphites are a religious faction in conflict with the WLF. They primarily use bows and arrows in combat and communicate with each other through whistling. Eliminate these enemies quickly because their allies can be alerted to your presence easily.

Rattlers
The Rattlers are a faction occupying Santa Barbara. They are often armed with firearms, helmets, and bulletproof vests. Like WLF, they are accompanied by dogs at times. Their notorious reputation was built from their brutal practices, including capturing both civilians and infected individuals for torture and execution.
