Resident Evil 4: What to do with Missing Shots and Aim Assist settings
- Last updated on
This guide introduces the Aim Assist in Resident Evil 4 Remake. It provides solutions when your shots miss and the recommended settings for the Aim Assist.
Dealing with Missed Shots
Enable Snap and Follow
When your shots are not hitting, it is highly recommended to set the aim assist to Snap and Follow in the CONTROLS settings. This will reduce the default aim sway, making it easier to hit your shots accurately.
Enable Dot Display
In addition to aim assist, it is also recommended to enable the Dot Display in the DISPLAY settings. This makes it easier to align your aim even without aiming down sights and reduces screen motion sickness.
Narrow the Field of View
Minimum Field of View | Maximum Field of View |
---|---|
If you're not confident in your aim, it is advisable to narrow the field of view in the CAMERA settings. While the scanning range will be reduced, enemies will appear larger, making it easier to align your aim.
Turn Off Motion Blur
Motion blur is a feature that causes camera blur when tracking moving objects. While it enhances the immersive visuals, it can make target outlines unclear and negatively affect your aim. It is recommended to turn it off in the CAMERA settings.
Adjust Camera Sensitivity
If you are using stick controls or have a high-sensitivity mouse setting, having the camera sensitivity set too high can make your aim unstable. Adjust the maximum speed and acceleration of camera movement in the CAMERA settings, starting with a slower setting, and gradually increase it if needed.
Recommended Aim Assist Settings
Snap and Follow Provides the Most Assist
The recommended aim assist function is Snap and Follow. This setting locks on the target and follows its movement, making it easier for beginners to hit their targets.
Maximum Aim Assist Speed is Recommended
After enabling Snap and Follow, it is recommended to set the aim assist speed to maximum. This setting allows the aim assist to quickly snap to the target's head when aiming, making it easier to align the aim. Only if there is discomfort with the maximum assist speed, adjust it slightly lower.
