Route for Collecting All Treasures in the Village

Buying the Treasure Map from the Merchant

To efficiently collect all the treasures, first buy the treasure map from the Merchant. You'll encounter the Merchant starting in Chapter 2. Since Chapter 1 doesn't contain any treasures, you can advance without worries until you meet him.

Ongoing Treasure Collection

After acquiring the treasure map, focus on gathering treasures, excluding those marked with "!". These standard treasures are mostly easy to find and collect right away, making it efficient to gather them as you progress.

Collecting Chapter 2 Treasures

During Chapter 2, make sure to collect all treasures in the listed areas. You will lose access to certain regions after progressing to Chapter 5. To collect special treasures, you'll also need a small key, which is recommended to collect while exploring the Valley.

In Chapter 2, find small keys in the southern hut in the Valley and within the Village Chief's Manor. Use the Valley key for special treasures in the Abandoned Factory Yard. For the key found in the Village Chief's Manor, it's advised to use it for special treasures in either Quarry or Lakeside Settlement, rather than Village Square, which remains accessible in Chapter 5.

In Chapter 3, find a small key next to the fuel-filled shack in Fish Farm. Since you can still access certain areas after Chapter 5, use this key for special treasures in other regions like the Abandoned Factory Yard or Lakeside Settlement.

Acquiring the Shrine Key in Chapter 4

Once you reach Chapter 4, make sure to obtain another small key. The location of this key wasn't provided in the original text, but it's crucial for unlocking additional treasures.

Collect all treasures up to Chapter 4

Make sure to collect all the treasures available near the Shrine's Old Key boat area. Once you move on to Chapter 5, you won't be able to access the areas east of the Church Courtyard Storage, or the areas south of the Village Chief's Manor. It's advisable to consult your map and collect any treasures you may have missed.

Optional: Gimmick Treasure in Church Courtyard Storage

The gimmick treasure located in the typewriter room of the Church Courtyard Storage can be left for later. It requires a small key found within the same area to unlock. It's recommended to visit this area last, especially since moving to inaccessible areas will happen after solving the puzzle and reuniting with Ashley.

Once you enter Chapter 5 with Ashley, you can start collecting treasures in the Village Square and the Village Chief's Manor. If you've gathered all treasures up to Chapter 4, you should have 35 in total.

As you progress through Chapter 6, make sure to collect the treasures along the way. Check your map before moving to the destination marker, as you won't be able to return after the cutscene following the boss battle.

How to Get the Treasure Map from the Merchant

Visit the Merchant near the starting point of Chapter 7 to exchange for the treasure map. If you're short on Spinels, consider breaking the blue coins in the Castle Gate Area to obtain them.

General Collecting Tips for the Old Castle

Once you've secured the treasure map, it's recommended to gather all available items—with the exception of Puzzle rewards—as you navigate through the expansive layout of the Old Castle. Maximizing efficiency involves picking up items that align with your intended path.

Progress through the game until you reach Chapter 8. The small key you'll need is located on a desk in the corridor after you exit the Bindery and encounter Plaga. Once you've obtained the key, head back to the Bindery to unlock the chest.

Continue your journey to Chapter 9. You'll find the small key at the end of the northwest door, which you can reach by climbing the stairs in the Grand Hall. It is advisable to use this key in the Audience Chamber.

After securing the small key, proceed to clear the Knight's Room. Once done, you'll find the cube object in the hallway just outside the Knight's Room. With this cube object, you can access a special treasure stored in a shelf with a square hole.

Collecting Treasures Before Assembling the 3 Heads

Once you've acquired the cube object, make sure to collect all accessible treasures before placing the three heads onto the headless monster statue located in the Grand Hall. After you've fitted the heads, Ashley will leave, and you won't be able to collect any more cooperative treasures.

One Locked Chest Remains

Don't worry if you leave a locked chest behind. You'll only find two small keys in Chapter 9. Since you can always return to these areas, it's okay to leave a chest unopened.

From the Throne Room in Chapter 10 up to the Krauser boss fight, you won't have the option to backtrack. Make sure you gather all available treasures so you don't miss out on any.

How to Obtain the Small Key in Chapter 12

Once you arrive in Chapter 12, look for the small key on the Gondala Platform in the Ballroom. Use it to unlock the last chest. There are only three such keys in the castle. All can be found in areas that you'll have access to at the start of Chapter 12, so you have enough time to collect them.

Gather Missed Treasures Before Proceeding to the Clock Tower

Before getting on the gondola to the Clock Tower, make sure you've collected all the missed treasures. Don't forget about the small chests that require a small key or the treasures located in the Throne Room. There are five more treasures available after the gondola ride, so if you've collected 36 by this point, you're good to continue.

Secure 40 Treasures Before Using the Lift in Clock Tower

Before using the lift at the Clock Tower, ensure that you have gathered the four treasures available in that area. You won't be able to return once you use the lift, so double-check your collected treasures before boarding.

Achieve Full Treasure Collection Before the Boss Battle

As you make your way from the Clock Tower to the boss room, try to collect the last available treasure. This will unlock the "Raider" trophy for you.

Get the Treasure Map from the Merchant

As soon as you begin the Deserted Island section, head right and acquire the treasure map from the Merchant. It's a good idea to already have the 5 spinels as you can exchange them for the treasure map.

There are no small keys

There are no chests requiring small keys on the Deserted Island, so there is no need to
backtrack later. Collect the treasures as you progress through the story to smoothly complete the
collection.

Collect All Treasures in the Wharf Area in Chapter 13

After getting the treasure map from the Merchant, be sure to collect every treasure in the Wharf area. It's advised to double-check for any missed treasures, as you can't return to this area after you leave the Surveillance Room. You'll also have another chance to gather these when you're reunited with Ashley and gain access to the Laboratory in Chapter 14.

Obtaining Three Treasures in Chapter 16 for Complete Collection

In Chapter 16, there are three key locations where you can find treasures to complete your collection: outside the Luis Research Facility, within the Sanctuary, and just before facing the final boss. Keep in mind that once you've battled the final boss, you won't be able to revisit these treasure-laden areas. So be sure to grab all the treasures before proceeding to the Merchant's room.

Guidelines for Collecting All Treasure Map Treasures

Focus on the Map's Indicated Treasures

To earn the trophy for collecting all treasure map treasures, you need only gather the treasures that are marked on the maps available for purchase from the Merchant. Importantly, all treasures must be collected in a single playthrough. Keep an eye on the number of treasures displayed on the bottom-right corner of the map to ensure you're on track.

No Need for DLC Treasures to Achieve the Trophy

The trophy for collecting all treasure map treasures can be achieved without needing to collect the "Expansion Treasure" offered in the DLC. So even if you're playing the Standard Edition, you can still aim for trophy completion without additional purchases.
