Tips for Clearing the Old Castle With a High Score
Summary of tips for clearing the old castle and earning score |

Destroy all four enemy cannons early |
Defeat "Zealot (Staff)" early |
Eliminate Plaga with Flash Grenade |
Defeat Garrador with cannons or Heavy Grenade |
Eliminate all four enemy cannons early on
Enemy cannons are positioned on elevated areas around the old castle. These cannons fire potent projectiles and can be a nuisance, so it's advisable to take them out early. Nearby, you'll find Tar bombs that can be detonated with long-range weapons like handguns to effectively destroy the cannons.
All four cannons can be destroyed at the location where you climb the ladder
When you reach the spot with the ladder, you have a vantage point to destroy all four cannons. So initially, it's smarter to take the left ladder route rather than the front staircase.
Defeat "Zealot (Staff)" early on
After some time in combat, 'Zealot (Staff)' enemies will show up. It's advisable to eliminate them quickly, as they'll spawn Plagas if left unattended, creating additional challenges.
Eliminate Plaga with Flash Grenade
The 'Plaga' enemy, identifiable by the tentacles protruding from its head, can be taken down in one hit with a Flash Grenade. If you find yourself overwhelmed, use a Flash Grenade to neutralize them. You can also use melee attacks on enemies who are temporarily blinded.
Defeat the Garrador with a Cannon or Heavy Grenade
The challenging 'Garrador' enemy appears periodically and is known for its swift attacks. It's tough and hard to target at weak spots, so using a cannon or heavy grenade for a quick defeat is advised. Eliminating Garrador not only grants you 10,000 points but also adds an extra 30 seconds, making it well worth the effort.
How to Defeat Garrador Using a Knife |
Recommended Spots in the Old Castle
Hill with Cannons
In the old castle, positioning yourself near the cannons makes it harder for enemies to flank you from behind. The narrow corridors also provide an advantage for piercing multiple enemies with a Sniper Rifle. If things get heated, descending to a lower level can give you the time you need to regroup.
Destroy all four enemy cannons
While fighting near the cannons reduces your chances of being flanked, it also makes you a target for concentrated fire from enemy cannons. So it's wise to destroy all four enemy cannons as quickly as possible. Climbing the ladder gives you a vantage point to take them all out.
