Resident Evil 4: Viper: Location and Use

Location of Viper

The first Viper can be found in the middle of Chapter 3, inside the Town Hall located at the Village Square with the Crest Key. As soon as you open the door, it will quickly jump out of the wooden box on the left. Attack it with a knife while it is crawling on the ground to capture it.

The second Viper is hiding inside the shack where there is a Ganado (Molotov Cocktail), located further ahead from the Church towards the bridge. Destroy the wooden box and then attack the Viper that falls to the ground to collect it.

However, if you defeat the Ganado (Molotov Cocktail) and go straight to the shack, multiple Ganados will attack you immediately after breaking the box. They will block the entrance of the shack, putting you in a difficult situation. It is recommended to defeat the Ganados first and then calmly collect the Viper.

When heading to the Fish Farm from the direction of the bridge to search for Boat Fuel, two Vipers will appear along the way. After defeating the large enemy with a bull's head, make sure to capture the Vipers in the area near the small house where the Blue Medallion is located, as they move extensively towards the waterfront in the back, without missing their threatening sounds.

It's also an option to collect them slowly in Chapter 4.

When visiting the Fish Farm for the first time in Chapter 3, there will be a battle with a large number of enemies. If it is difficult to deal with the large army and collect the Vipers at the same time, it is recommended to visit the Fish Farm again after the enemies have disappeared in Chapter 4.

The next Viper is located near the pier where the explosive trap is set, further into Fish Farm. Enter the pier with the explosive trap and proceed straight ahead to examine the waterfront in the back.

The next Viper is located near the front of the cabin where the Boat Fuel is placed, deep inside the Fish Farm. They move extensively towards the West side from the waterfront, so try to find them relying on their threatening sounds.

Uses of Viper

Can be sold for 1,000 Ptas each

Viper can be sold to the Merchant for 1,000 Ptas each. Although the unit price per Viper is low, it can be a useful item for making money if you catch a large quantity at the Fish Farm.

Can be used as a recovery item

Viper can also be used as a recovery item. The amount of recovery is similar to that of a Green Herb, and it takes up 2 slots in the attaché case per Viper. If you don't have powerful recovery items like Mixed Herbs or Chicken Eggs (Brown), it's recommended to carry Vipers for recovery purposes.

Achievement conditions for the request "Obtaining Vipers"

Vipers are required to clear the Viper Hunter request located in Chapter 3. Head towards the west side of the Fish Farm in Chapter 3 or Chapter 4 to collect them, sell them to the Merchant, and achieve the request. As a reward, you will receive 4 Spinels.
