Walkthrough Chart for Breaking the Castle Gate

Prepare with the Merchant indoors

Once you pass through the Castle Gate from the starting point, you'll encounter the Merchant. Make sure to prepare for battle. In Chapter 7, the enemies will transform from villagers to cultists and become more formidable. Don't forget to purchase and upgrade weapons.

It is recommended to purchase the Stingray

In Chapter 7, the Stingray is an automatic Sniper Rifle which can be found in the Merchant's inventory. It doesn't require cocking after each shot and is easy to handle. Since there will be many opportunities to use a Sniper Rifle in Chapter 7, it is recommended to sell your initial Sniper Rifle and switch to the Stingray.

First encounter with Mutated Cultists

As you progress along the path, you'll encounter Mutated Cultists near the altar. They will mutate as soon as Leon approaches, making stealth impossible. You can either run past them or defeat them.

Weak spot of Mutated Cultists is their elongated mouth

The weak spot of Mutated Cultists is the elongated mouth that extends from their bodies. Attacking their torso won't have any effect, so if you want to save ammo, aim for their mouth.

Catapult attacks begin near the castle gate

Once you pass through the back of the altar and reach the area near the castle gate, you'll be under attack by four catapults. If you get hit, Leon will suffer heavy damage and Ashley will be knocked down. Be careful and try to avoid the falling projectiles.

Destroy the first catapult

You can destroy the first catapult on the spot where you are hit by the stone attack. To destroy the catapult, you need to aim for the barrel of gunpowder. However, the visible range is limited. Therefore, use a Sniper Rifle or a Handgun with a Laser Sight to detonate it.

Destroy the second catapult

You can destroy the second catapult near the room where the roof collapsed, after climbing the stairs and proceeding. The second barrel of gunpowder is relatively at a medium distance, so it can be easily destroyed even with a Handgun.

Destroy the third catapult

You can destroy the third catapult by crossing the road that extends from near the room where the roof collapsed and reaching the distant tower. Since you can only peek through a very small gap, use a Sniper Rifle to destroy it.

Raise the cannon inside the distant tower

Enter the fenced area and drop down to raise the cannon. Shooting the chains will lift the cannon.

Destroy the fourth catapult

Proceed from the distant tower and climb the ladder to reach a point where you can destroy the fourth catapult. The explosive barrel is located on high ground near the castle gate, so use the Handgun or Sniper Rifle to destroy it.

Destroy the Castle Gate with the cannon

Return to the lifted cannon and use it to destroy the Castle Gate. You can use the cannon by going around to the back, and it is also effective against enemies. Defeat the enemies that appear and then destroy the Castle Gate to proceed.

Walkthrough Chart to Defeat Garrador

Prepare with the Merchant in the Castle

As soon as you enter the castle, there is a Merchant nearby. Use this as your final supply and save point for Chapter 7. Don't forget to upgrade your weapons as you will be facing tough enemies.

Battle Begins after the Cutscene with Ramon

After advancing a little in the Square, an event will occur with Ramon, followed by a battle with the cult group. Zealots (Shield) will appear, and it takes time to break them with a Handgun. It is recommended to either destroy them with a single shot using a Shotgun or go for a headshot with a Sniper Rifle.

Proceed with Ashley's Cooperation

With the Merchant behind you, there is a path diagonally to the left where you can cooperate with Ashley. Let Ashley go ahead and have her open the door for you to proceed.

Reach the Dungeon by Passing through the Gap in the Wall

Near the door opened by Ashley, there is a gap in the wall. Proceed through it. The Dungeon expands ahead, and to continue further, you will need the Dungeon Key.

Defeat Garrador after Obtaining the Dungeon Key

After obtaining the Dungeon Key deep in the path, the ground collapses and you will have to fight Garrador. Garrador is a blind enemy, so attack its weak spot from behind without making any noise.

Walkthrough Chart for the Water Hall

Reunite with Ashley in the Underground Dungeon

To defeat Garrador, rotate the crank to open the path and reunite with Ashley in the Dungeon. After reuniting, proceed using the key obtained in the Dungeon.

Solve the Animal Gong Puzzle

Answer to the symbol puzzle

Solve the puzzle with the three symbols found ahead along the path. Shoot the gongs in the back with a gun to move them to match the symbols

Solve the Sword Puzzle

Take the Bloodied Sword in the back of the fence and solve the sword puzzle. Collect all the swords embedded in the picture and reinsert the swords that match the situation in the picture to proceed.

Reach the fountain square where black water springs

After the conversation event with Ramon, continue straight ahead to reach the fountain square where black water springs. When Leon enters, a group of Cultists appears, so fight while protecting Ashley.

Obtain the Halo Wheel

Descend the stairs in the fountain square and obtain the Halo Wheel in the center. There is a pedestal on the front and right side where it can be attached, so rotate it to lower the stairs and go back up.

Proceeding by using the Halo Wheel on the central pedestal

When going back up, the cultists will be rearranged, so defeat them first to prevent the handle from being obstructed. After defeating the enemies, use the Halo Wheel on the central pedestal to proceed.

Cooperate with Ashley to turn the handle

As you proceed further, there will be another pedestal, but the left and right pedestals can only be turned with Ashley's help. Direct Ashley towards them. Cultists will approach Ashley, so provide support with a Sniper Rifle or other weapons.

Have Ashley open the locked door

After passing through the fountain square, there will be a locked door. Work together with Ashley to open it. Once you go through the door and proceed further, a cutscene will occur. After it ends, Chapter 7 will be cleared.

Garrador Strategy

Move while crouching

Garrador cannot see and relies on sound to locate Leon. Therefore, by moving silently while crouching, you can safely approach Garrador from behind without being noticed. Remember to always move while crouching.

Target the parasite on its back for attacks

The weak point of Garrador is the parasite growing on its back. Flank it from behind while crouching and use powerful weapons like the Shotgun or Sniper Rifle to deal significant damage.

Immediately move to a different location after shooting

After shooting, quickly move to a different location. Garrador will detect Leon's position from the gunshot and charge towards the location where the shot was fired. After dealing damage, remember to move to a different location and repeat the loop of flanking from behind and attacking the weak point.
