Where to Find the Savage Mutt (Colmillo)
First Appearance: Village Chief's Manor

The Savage Mutt's first shows up at the entrance of the Village Chief's Manor. To trigger its appearance, go to the second floor and wait for the background music to change; then, leave the manor through the entrance towards the gate.
Don't Forget the Attic Room
As you head to the second floor, work with Ashley to lower the ladder next to the bed and explore the attic room. Here, you can find files, treasures, and yellow herbs.
Subsequent Appearance: Village Square

Once you leave the manor, the Colmillo will appear in the Village Square. However, opening the gate doesn't lead to an immediate fight. The dog will escape through the gate and run into the Village Square. If you follow it to the bonfire area, you will enter into combat. It's advised to clear the enemies in the Village Square first to avoid being overwhelmed.

How to Efficiently Defeat the Colmillo
Use Flash Grenades

The Colmillo is infected with a Plaga parasite, making it highly vulnerable to Flash Grenades. By throwing a Flash Grenade and following up with a finishing blow from your knife, you can take down the dog more easily than through regular combat.
If you're out of Flash Grenades, consider buying the recipe from the Merchant before heading to the Village Chief's Manor. You can craft about three grenades with this recipe, which costs 6000 Ptas and requires 5 Gunpowders and 1 Resource L.
Direct Combat is Not Advisable
The Colmillo is a formidable opponent with high durability and fast-ranged attacks that can quickly deplete Leon's health. A direct confrontation is not advised, as it will consume a lot of ammo and health resources.

Quest Location and Rewards for Defeating the Savage Mutt
You can accept the request, "A Savage Mutt ," in front of the Town Hall during Chapter 5.

The quest can be found near the Merchant and is posted on the wall of the Town Hall. Once you proceed to the siege battle later in Chapter 5, you will not be able to accept or complete this quest, so make sure to clear it beforehand.
Reward: 8 Spinels
After you've defeated the dog, report back to the Merchant to receive your reward of 8 Spinels. This is one of the most generous rewards offered for any quest, so be sure to complete it before moving on to Chapter 6.
Bonus Drop: Alexandrite
Upon defeating the dog, you can also obtain a gemstone called Alexandrite as a drop. It can be sold for 6000 Ptas each. If combined with a treasure that has a square slot, its selling price can be even higher.
