Resident Evil 4: How to Obtain the Body Armor and its Effects
- Last updated on
Discover Body Armor in Resident Evil 4 Remake! Our guide covers its effects, durability, repair options, and how to acquire it.
Effects of Body Armor
Damage Absorption
Body armor serves as protective gear that partially absorbs incoming damage. When equipped, an armor icon appears next to your health bar. This icon has a durability gauge that will absorb a set amount of damage until it's depleted.
Durability Limit
Once the armor's durability gauge reaches zero, the armor will break. However, you don't need to buy a new set; you can repair it at the Merchant's location to continue using it.
Repairing Body Armor
Fix it at the Merchant's Location
You can repair your broken body armor at the Merchant's location, similar to how you would repair a knife. It's advisable to repair your armor before it completely breaks, especially before reaching the Merchant's area.
Reduce Repair Costs with Charms

【Rarity】Rare30% off body armor repairs |
The Ada Wong charm, obtainable from the Token Machine, offers a 30% discount on body armor repair costs. Given that repair costs can be quite high depending on the game's difficulty, using the "Ada" charm is recommended to save money.

How to Acquire Body Armor

Upgrading Body Armor
No Upgrades Available
Body armor can't be upgraded; it can only be repaired. If you're looking to further reduce incoming damage, aim to acquire the "Chicken Hat" costume, which significantly lowers the damage you take.
