Strategies for Siege Battle
Clear the First Half by Either Timing or Blocking All Windows
Strategy for the first half of the siege battle | |
---|---|
1 | Block the window on the left side of the door with a wooden board |
2 | Move the shelf to block one window |
3 | Be cautious and fight back to prevent enemies from entering through the windows |
4 | After a certain amount of time or blocking all windows, proceed to the second half |
Block the Left Window Near the Door with a Wooden Board
When the siege battle starts, immediately block the window near Leon with a wooden board. This makes it easier to manage enemy invasions, as the remaining two windows will be within a single-screen view.
Use a Shelf to Block Another Window
After blocking one window, use a wooden shelf to block another. Note that the shelf is not as sturdy as the wooden board and will break after sustaining a certain amount of damage.
Actively Defend Against Invading Enemies
Aim for headshots to stagger enemies trying to enter through the windows. If any manage to get in, prioritize eliminating them.
Complete the First Half by Timing or Blocking
You can complete the first half of the siege either by blocking all windows with wooden boards or by letting a certain amount of time pass. The cue for the second half is a cutscene showing enemies invading the second floor.
Clear the Second Half by Timing or Defeating the Bull Head Brute
Strategy for the second half of the siege | |
---|---|
1 | Continue fighting on the first floor even when enemies invade the second floor |
2 | The Bull Head Brute appears after a certain amount of time |
3 | Defeat the Bull Head Brute or clear the stage after a certain amount of time |
Continue Fighting on the First Floor
Even when enemies start invading the second floor, it's advisable to continue fighting on the more spacious first floor.
The Bull Head Brute Appears After a While
Be cautious when the Bull Head Brute appears, as it will break through the boarded-up windows, allowing villagers to invade as well.
End the Siege by Defeating the Bull Head Brute or Timing
You can end the siege either by defeating the Brute or by letting a certain amount of time pass. When fighting the Brute, use Flash Grenades and Knife attacks for maximum damage.
Tips for Siege Battle
Prioritize Enemies Likely to Mutate
If an enemy is about to mutate, prioritize taking it down. Mutants are more challenging to deal with due to their wide attack range.
Protect Luis with Knife Kills
Enemies targeting Luis can be efficiently taken down with Knife Kills, saving ammo, and preventing mutations.
Aim for Victory by Elimination, Not Timing
While you can win by letting time pass, it's better to actively defeat enemies, especially on higher difficulties.
How to Obtain the Record Without Using Wooden Boards
Attempt on 2nd Playthrough on Assisted Difficulty
For those aiming to get the "Did You Send Out Those Invitations?" record, it's advisable to attempt this on your second playthrough on Assisted difficulty.
Sell Unused Wooden Boards to the Merchant
Any wooden boards you don't use can be sold to the Merchant for extra points.
Although it is only worth 500 points, it can help you earn money. If possible, pick them up even when aiming for a clear without using wooden boards.
