Positioning: Safe Zone Near Its Buttocks

Defeat El Gigante in the safe zone near its buttocks

To defeat El Gigante effectively, take advantage of the safe zone near its lower body. This area is less susceptible to its attacks, allowing you to aim for a no-damage clear using just your Knife.

Be careful of grab attacks when keeping distance

If you keep some distance from its feet, you are more likely to be hit by its wide-range grab attacks. When fighting in the safe zone, be conscious of staying close to its feet.

Attack while maintaining distance

Attack while maintaining distance

If you prefer not to use the safe zone, keep a reasonable distance from El Gigante. This will make it easier to dodge its close-range attacks and thrown debris.

Dodge the thrown rocks and debris by moving sideways

Sometimes, El Gigante will throw rocks and debris to attack. Even if you are at a distance, you can still be hit, so watch its swinging motion and move sideways to dodge them.

Target the Exposed Weak Spot

Focus on attacking when the weak spot is exposed

Aim for the Plaga (parasite) that becomes exposed on El Gigante's back. Attacking this weak spot deals more damage and creates an opportunity for further attacks.

After the weak spot appears or when it is down, it is recommended to attack with the "SR M1903" Sniper Rifle. It has a very high attack power and can defeat it faster than melee attacks, so if you have enough ammo, try using the Sniper Rifle.

Use Flash Grenades to Knock Him Down

When the weak spot is exposed, use a Flash Grenade to knock El Gigante down, creating an opportunity for more attacks.

Keep it for later if you have spare

Flash Grenade is useful in the siege battle at the end of Chapter 5 and in the strategy for the Request "A Savage Mutt." If you have enough healing scenes and ammo, try to clear it without using Flash Grenade.

Counterattack with Knife When Downed

Approach and Counterattack with Knife when Downed

When El Gigante is down, climb onto its back and attack with your Knife. This is an ammo-saving strategy, although it deals less damage than firearms.

Lower Damage Compared to Gunshots

Counterattacking with the Knife inflicts lower damage compared to gunshots. If you have extra gun ammo or if you're aiming for a speedrun, it is faster to continuously attack the weak points with high-powered weapons such as the "SR M1903" or "Red 9" rather than counterattacking with the Knife.

Explore the Shack for Items

Explore the Shack when Items Run Out

If you run out of items during the battle, explore the nearby shack for ammo and health items. Be quick, as staying too long will make El Gigante attack the shack.

Rescue the Dog in Chapter 3
