UNDERTALE: How to Defeat or Spare the Royal Guards

In Undertale, we will explain how to defeat the Royal Guard; also known as RG01 and RG02. We also provided their attack patterns and how to dodge them.

Monsters that Appear in Hotland
The Royal Guards consist of RG01 and RG02, and they appear in Hotland. Regardless of the route, you will encounter them in battle. If you are aiming for the Pacifist route, you need to avoid them. If you are aiming for the Genocide route, you must defeat them.

Tips for Defeating the Royal Guard
Move Left and Right to Dodge Their Attacks
The Royal Guard attacks from top to bottom. Move left and right to dodge their attacks.
How to Spare the Royal Guard
| 1 | Polish RG02's Armor |
| 2 | Touch the green armor 5 times |
| 3 | Whisper to RG01 |
Polish RG02's Armor
To evade the Royal Guard, first select the action Clean Armor of RG02. After cleaning the armor, Green Armors will appear during their attacks.
Touch the Green Armor 5 Times
After selecting the Clean Armor action, Green Armors will appear during their attacks. Avoid the attacks and touch the Green Armor 5 times. After touching the Green Armor 5 times, RG02 will remove his armor and RG01 will start to get nervous.
Whisper to RG01
After RG02 removes his armor, RG01 will get nervous. Whisper to RG01. After listening to the conversation between RG01 and RG02, you will be able to evade them.
