Permanent Conditions

Clear Status of the Genocide Route
Cannot return after leaving Ruins
Battle with Flowey is only available in the Neutral Route

Clear Status of the Genocide Route

Undertale_ Sans

If you clear the Genocide Route without clearing the Pacifist Route, the ending of the Pacifist Route will be negatively affected. If you want to see the true Pacifist Route ending, clear the Pacifist Route first and then play the Genocide Route.

Only Option is to Delete the Main Save Data

To delete the clear status of the Genocide Route, you have to delete the main save data. Deleting the main save data will reset everything, so only do this as a last resort.

Genocide Route Story Walkthrough

Cannot Return after Leaving Ruins

Cannot Return to Ruins

Unlike other maps, once you leave Ruins, you cannot return regardless of the route. In Ruins, make sure to collect all items and defeat all monsters to avoid missing anything.

Only Can Return to Ruins after Flowey Battle in Pacifist Route

Only after the Flowey battle in the Pacifist Route, you can re-enter Ruins. However, there won't be any battles with monsters, only conversations to enjoy.

Photoshop Flowey is Only Available in the First Playthrough

Omega Flowey

Photoshop Flowey, also known as Omega Flowey, can only be battled in the first playthrough. If you want to rematch with Photoshop Flowey, you need to either delete the save data of the main game to start a new first playthrough, or clear the P route and choose True Reset.

Tips for defeating Flowey

Reversible Conditions via Resets

Name change
Defeating enemies (P route)
Not defeating enemies (G route)
Not giving water to Undyne (P route)

Name Change

Name change

The player's name can be changed by clearing the P route. In the N route and G route clears, it is not possible to perform a True Reset in the game. So, aim to clear the P route by playing through again if you want to change your name.

Name Change is also Possible by Deleting the Main Save Data

The player's name can also be changed by deleting the main save data. Deleting the main save data will start from scratch, so it is recommended to delete it only in extreme cases.

Life and Death of Monsters

Napstablook_basic_info

The life and death of monsters related to the branching conditions of the routes can be resolved through resets and new playthroughs. If you accidentally defeat the monsters as the P route objective, clear the N route and reset. Similarly, if you progress without defeating the monsters that must be defeated in the G route, it is also recommended to reset after clearing the N route.

Not Giving Water to Undyne

Fainting from heat

Undyne's friendship event includes giving her water from the water cooler. If you missed giving her water, clear the N route once as a reset.
