Meaning and Difficulty of the G Route
G Stands For "Genocide"
The G Route is an abbreviation for the Genocide Route, which means the route of slaughter. It is a route where you defeat all the monsters and bosses to reach the ending. It is also known for its high difficulty due to the appearance of strong bosses like "Undyne the Undying" and "Sans".
Smooth Progression Outside of Boss Battles
In the G Route, there is no need to solve puzzles. Boss battles (other than Undyne the Undying and Sans) can also be finished in one hit. Progression outside of battles is relatively easier compared to the N Route and P Route.
Recommended to Play Last
It is recommended to play the G Route after playing the P Route and N Route. The G Route has a very high difficulty in boss battles and requires multiple retries.
Additionally, once you clear the G Route, the ending of the P Route will change slightly. You won't be able to see the original ending anymore.

Conditions For Progressing Through the G Route
Defeat All Monsters and Bosses
The condition for progressing through the G Route is to defeat all monsters and bosses. The number of monsters that must be defeated varies for each area. When the condition is met, the message "But nobody came." will be displayed during encounters.
Some Enemies Can Be Skipped
Enemies That Can Be skipped | |
---|---|
Napstablook |
Glyde |
In the G Route, you generally have to defeat all encountered opponents, but there are those like Napstablook that can be skipped. Additionally, there is no need to encounter Glyde, so you can ignore it when playing the G Route.

Boss Guide for the G Route
Undyne the Undying
Location | Waterfall |
Strategy Turns | Approximately 20 turns |
Undyne the Undying is a boss that only appears in the Waterfall area of the G Route. She is a powerful boss and can be considered the first major challenge of the G Route.
Due to her different attack patterns compared to regular monsters, it is unlikely that players will be able to defeat her on their first attempt. It is recommended to prepare beforehand with items such as Ballet Shoes and Abandoned Quiche.
Sans
Location | New Home |
Strategy Turns | 23 turns or more ※ Clear the battle by attacking 23 times |
Sans is a boss that only appears in the New Home area of the G Route. As the final boss of the G Route, he can be considered the most challenging boss in the game.
His attacks are designed to only hit with the final blow. Because of this, it is recommended to equip the "Burnt Pan" instead of the "Real Knife" that can be obtained later.
