Dating Event Trigger Conditions

Clear battles without Defeating the Boss

When directly facing Papyrus and Undyne, clear the battles without defeating them. As for Alphys, you need to clear the battle without defeating Mettaton EX.

Clear the Dating Events in Order of Appearance

The monsters for dating events appear in the order of "Papyrus → Undyne → Alphys". In order to trigger the dating events, you need to clear the events with the previous characters. So, progress the dating events in the order of "Papyrus → Undyne → Alphys".

Aim for the Non-combat P Route

Clearing the dating events is also a branching condition for the non-combat P route. It is possible to clear the N route as well, but let's aim for the P route by clearing all the dating events.

Papyrus

To trigger the friendship event with Papyrus, clear the Papyrus Battle without defeating him. If you defeat Papyrus, the date event will not occur, and you will not be able to progress to other friendship events and the Pacifist Route.

Undyne

To trigger Undyne's friendship event, you need to clear Undyne's battle without defeating her and also clear Papyrus's date event. If you haven't cleared the date with Papyrus, go back to Snowdin and become friends with him.

Conditions and strategies for Undyne's date

Alphys

To trigger Alphys' friendship event, you need to have cleared the Neutral Route at least once and cleared the date with Undyne. If you have cleared the Neutral Route on your first playthrough without killing anyone, you will start the game from just before the Asgore battle in the first playthrough when you select "Continue". This also allows the date event with Alphys to occur.

Reset if you Defeat any Monsters

If you cleared the Neutral Route on your first playthrough and accidentally defeated one or more monsters, you'll need to start over from the beginning. When you restart, there's no requirement to clear it as the Neutral Route, so try to progress without defeating any monsters, including Mettaton EX.
