Ignore or Defeat Monsters to Obtain Money
In order to progress through the story and earn money, you can either ignore or defeat the monsters. If you choose the Pacifist route, ignore them. If you choose the Genocide route, defeat them to earn gold.
The Further You Progress, the More Money You Receive
As you progress through the areas, the amount of gold you receive for ignoring or defeating monsters increases. However, the enemies also become stronger. So, make sure to strengthen your equipment as you advance.

Sell Items in Temmie Village
In Temmie Village, there is a shop where you can sell items. Sell any items that are taking up space in your inventory or storage box, such as unused equipment, to obtain gold.
Refusing Negotiations Increases the Selling Price
When selling items to Temmie, there may be instances where Temmie tries to negotiate with you. If you refuse the negotiation and try to sell the same item again, the selling price will increase. Therefore, it is recommended to refuse negotiations in order to obtain as much gold as possible.
Ride the Boat
If you return to Waterfall after clearing it, you will encounter a boat. Talk to the boat and ride it to obtain 3G each time.
Getting 2nd Place in Thunder Snail
The Thunder Snail (Snail Race) run by Napstablook allows you to participate for 10G per race. While winning will result in a loss of 9G, getting 2nd place will earn you 30G. Since getting 2nd place requires some practice, it's recommended to give it a try once you have accumulated a certain amount of gold.
Efficient Ways to Earn Money
Selling Dog Residue
| 1 | Obtain Dog Residue from the Piano Puzzle |
| 2 | Reduce your inventory to only one Dog Residue |
| 3 | Sell all but one Dog Residue |
| 4 | Repeat steps 2-3 |
The Dog Residue obtained from the Piano Puzzle fills up the item slot with either Dog Residue or Dog Salad when used. Dog Residue sells for 1-4G, and Dog Salad sells for 8G. Since you can repeat this process, it is an efficient way to earn gold.
Selling Cloudy Glasses
Cloudy Glasses can be purchased from Gerson's shop for 30G and sold for 50G. After earning some money with Dog Residue, it is faster to earn more money by repeatedly buying and selling Cloudy Glasses while traveling between Gerson's shop and Temmie Village.
