Defeat Toriel |
Defeat 20 Monsters Before Reaching Toriel's House
In order to progress through the G Route, you must defeat all the enemies that appear in the Ruins before entering Toriel's house. Once you have defeated them all, the encounter counter will display "But nobody came". Keep defeating them until this message appears.
Dummy and Napstablook Do Not Need to be Defeated
The Ruins monsters Dummy and Napstablook cannot be defeated, so they are excluded from the requirement. Additionally, if you have already defeated 20 enemies, you won't encounter Napstablook in battle. You can still move through the G Route without any issues despite this.

Defeat Toriel
To conquer the Ruins in the G Route, you need to defeat Toriel, the boss of the Ruins. If you meet the conditions for the G Route, you can defeat Toriel in one hit. There is no need to prepare before this boss battle.

Recommended Encounter Locations in the Ruins
Around the First Save Point for About 10 Encounters
It is recommended to aim for this area for encounters after receiving the cell phone from Toriel. As the encounter rate decreases when defeating 10-12 monsters in the same location, move on to the next location.
The Area With Moving Stones for the Remaining Encounters
Once the encounter rate in the first area decreases, move to the area with the puzzle where the stones move. If you experience encounters after achieving the required defeat count for the Genocide Route, it will display "But nobody came." Keep defeating monsters until you reach the required defeat count for the Genocide Route.
Genocide Route Strategy Points in the Ruins
Collect Recovery Items
In the Genocide Route, you will have to fight tough enemies like Undyne the Undying and Sans later on. It is essential to have recovery items with high effectiveness. Items like Spider Cider and Butterscotch Pie are extremely helpful.

Talk to Flowey
As you move along the path, you will start a conversation with Flowey. The battle screen will appear, but not to worry - it's a tutorial. Just follow Flowey's instructions to progress the conversation.
Solve the Cracked Floor Puzzle
① | Fall down from the cracked floor and go to the lower floor |
② | Go through the upper right entrance |
For the first puzzle, choose any spot to fall down through the cracked floor to the lower floor, then enter the upper right entrance to clear it. Proceed to the right and take on the next puzzle.
Solving the Stone Puzzle
① | Push the rock to the right and move it onto the switch |
For the second puzzle, you need to push the rock to the right and move it onto the switch to clear it. The rock can be moved by inputting the right direction on the L stick from the left side of the rock.
Solving the Second Pitfall Puzzle
① | Check the position of the maple tree on the lower floor |
② | Proceed without stepping on the pitfall (cracked floor) in the same location as the maple tree on the upper floor |
The third puzzle consists of two layers, upper and lower. To clear it, you need to proceed on the cracked floor (upper floor) without stepping on the maple tree(lower floor). Even if you fall down, you can return by entering the upper left entrance.
Solving the Second Stone Puzzle
① | Push the rock to the right and move it onto the switch |
② | Ask the rock at the bottom to stay on the switch |
For the fourth puzzle, you need to move the three rocks onto the switches to clear it. However, the rock at the bottom is special and requires multiple conversations while moving it.
Defeating Napstablook
How to Defeat Napstablook |
---|
Keep attacking until its HP reaches 0 |
Use the action "Cheer" 4 times |
Have already defeated 20 monsters |
Napstablook, the ghost, is not a boss that needs to be defeated even in the Genocide Route. It is troublesome to end the battle with attacks, so choose "Forcefully Spare?" and select "Yes" four times.
No Battles Occur If You Have Defeated 20 Monsters
If you have defeated all the monsters in the Ruins before a battle occurs, Napstablook will disappear. There is no need to worry as the battle will no longer occur. You can proceed through to the Genocide Route without any issues.

Spider Cider | 18G | Restores 24HP |
If you go right from the mouse hole where Napstablook was, you can go to a room where you can buy Spider Sweets. Although it's a bit expensive, Spider Cider is a valuable recovery item with a high effect, so make sure to check the spider web and buy it.
Solving the Pitfall (Cracked Floor) Puzzle
① | Fall down from the crack in the middle top to the floor below |
② | Press the switch |
In the room with six cracks, falling down from the crack in the middle top and pressing the switch on the floor below will clear the puzzle. Also, falling down from the bottom left will allow you to obtain the equipment item "Faded Ribbon".
Solving the Switch Puzzle
① | Press the Blue switch hidden behind the first pillar in Area 2 |
② | Press the Red switch in Area 3 |
③ | Press the Green switch hidden above the pillar in Area 4 |
The switch puzzle consists of four areas, and pressing the buttons of the colors written on the signs will clear it. To solve the puzzles in Areas 2 and 4, remember the entrance and button placements in Area 1. Search for the locations of each button from the perspective of the entrances of Areas 2 and 4.
Go Right at the T-shaped Intersection to Obtain the Knife
Upon reaching the T-shaped intersection towards the end of the Ruins, go right. You can obtain the weapon Toy Knife. Equipping it will allow you to defeat enemies more quickly.
Defeat 20 Enemies
If you haven't defeated 20 enemies by the time you reunite with Toriel and reach home, go back to the previous area and repeat encounters. If you see the message "No one came..." during encounters, it means you have achieved the conditions for the Genocide Route.
Encounter Rate Decreases as You Defeat Enemies
In "Undertale," the encounter rate decreases as you defeat enemies in the same area. It may be easy to misunderstand that you have defeated all of them after the 15th enemy or later, but until you see the message "No one came...," you haven't defeated all the enemies. Keep going back and forth until this happens.
Sleep in the Room and Receive Butterscotch Pie
After defeating enemies, go to Toriel's house and sleep in your room's bed to receive the Butterscotch Pie. The Butterscotch Pie is a valuable item that fully restores HP and is useful in battles against Undyne and Sans.

Defeat Toriel
When doing the G Route challenge, after defeating all the monsters, you must also defeat Toriel. Choose "Fight" and attack Toriel to defeat her in one hit. No preparation is necessary. If you also attack without hesitation from the first turn, you can see some special dialogue.
Changes in the G Route in Ruins
NPC Disappearance | NPC monsters that could be interacted with on the map in other routes will disappear. |
Determination | When you defeat 20 enemies, the message "DETERMINATION" will be displayed at the save point. |
BGM Change | When the message "But nobody came." is displayed, the BGM will change to a creepy music. |
Toriel's Kitchen | When you examine the kitchen in Toriel's house, the message "Where are the knives?" will be displayed. |
Toriel's Mirror | When you examine the mirror in Toriel's house, instead of saying "It's me!", it will say "It's me,XX". |
Toriel's Killing | If you defeat Toriel on the first turn, her dialogue will change. |
Reunion with Flowey | After leaving the Ruins, Flowey will recognize the protagonist as "the first human" and say "What a wonderful idea." |
