Differences between Each Platform

No Changes in the Story based on the Hardware

The story of UNDERTALE itself does not change regardless of the platform you play on. Choose the hardware and environment that suits you best and purchase the software to play.

Additional Features Vary by Platform

While there are no differences in the story based on the platform you play on, there are variations in the additional features. None of these additional features have a significant impact on the progression of the story.

Additional Elements for Each Console

Xbox One: Slots and Casino

The Xbox One version includes unique additional elements such as Slots and Casino. You can play Slots and Casino games using Sans, Mew Mew, and G.

Switch: Mad Mew Mew

Punska Mew Mew

The Switch version features a unique character called the Mad Mew Mew. This battle does not affect the story progression, but you can enjoy a rare encounter using the Switch.

How to Find Mad Mew Mew

PS4 and PSVita: Dog Shrine

Inujinja

The PS4 and PSVita versions feature a unique addition called Dog Shrine. Though it doesn't impact the story, it provides opportunities to earn trophies. If you're aiming for a full trophy completion, don't miss out on this feature.

Hardware Price
PC
(Steam)

1,780 yen (with Soundtrack)
Switch 1,620 yen (Digital Version)

PS4
PSVita
1,620 yen (Digital Version)
4,320 yen (Physical Version)
Xbox One
(compatible with Xbox Game Pass)
1,650 yen (Digital Version)

If you prioritize price, the cheapest Steam version is recommended. While lacking extra elements found in Switch or Xbox versions, it offers unique features at the most affordable price.

If you have specific additional elements you want, choose the hardware that corresponds to those elements. For example, the Switch version offers battles with Mad Mew Mew, and the PS4 version includes the Dog Shrine. Each hardware has its own unique elements, so it is recommended to choose based on your preference.

If you don't have any particular preferences for price or additional elements, choose a software that is compatible with the hardware you already own or are familiar with in terms of controls. Since precise controls are required during battles with monsters, it is recommended to use a hardware such as a controller or keyboard that you are accustomed to.
