Key Points for Progressing in the P Route

Do Not Defeat Monsters, Including Papyrus

In order to progress in the P Route, you must not defeat any monsters, including Papyrus. If you defeat any monsters and gain 1 or more EXP and increase your LV to 1 or higher, you will not be able to continue and will be forced into the N Route.

Organize Your Items

Since there are dimension boxes scattered throughout Snowdin, make sure to regularly organize your items after collecting them. Snowdin is a large area where you can obtain various items such as healing items and equipment.

Walkthrough Chart for the Dog Couple Battle

Fighting Doggo

To clear the Doggo battle, either choose the action "Pet" to let it go or use the item "Stick" to let it go. Doggo's blue attacks won't damage you if you don't move, so avoid them calmly.

Following Papyrus's Footsteps

For the first puzzle, simply follow the footsteps left by Papyrus to clear it. It is recommended to use the D-pad for movement as it makes it easier to move in straight lines and right angles.

Proceeding by Pressing Switches

Hint	Switch Locations

For the second puzzle, clear the path by pressing the switches. The switches are hidden in the area's top right where there is no snow piled up. Clearing the white snow below the area will reveal a hint.

Fighting the Dog Couple

To defeat the Dog Couple, Dogamy and Dogaressa, take actions in the order of "Roll over," "Sniff again," "Pet," and choose "Let go," or use the item "Stick" and choose "Let go" to escape. Similar to the Doggo battle, if you are in a stopped state, you won't take damage from blue attacks, so avoid the white attacks and try to stop the blue attacks.

Papyrus Battle Walkthrough Chart

Change ✕ to ◯ and Proceed

For the third puzzle, step on the two ✕ marks to change them to ◯, then press the button above to clear it. The trick to solving the puzzle is to step on the ✕ marks and then return to the outer side.

Change All 15 ✕ to ◯ and Proceed

For the fourth puzzle, step on all 15 ✕ marks to change them to ◯, then press the button on the left to clear it. By moving as shown in the image on the top right, you can change all of them to ◯.

Clearable By Talking to Papyrus

For the fourth puzzle, you can talk to Papyrus to get hints and answers. If you talk to him twice, he will give you a hint, and if you talk to him three times, he will mention the switch on the tree.

Examine the tree to the left of Papyrus. Press the switch on the tree and it will automatically change all of them to ◯, allowing you to clear it without stepping on them.

Change All 12 ✕ to ◯ and Proceed

For the fifth puzzle, step on all 12 ✕ marks to change them to ◯, then press the button on the right to clear it. Note that you can stop on the marked areas, so you can change all of them to ◯ using the route shown in the image above.

Battle Against Greater Dog

To clear the battle against Greater Dog, act in the order of "Beckon," "Pet," "Play," "Pet," "Pet," and let it go. Additionally, if you have the initial equipment "Stick," you can use it to immediately spare Greater Dog.

Fighting Papyrus

After passing through Snowdin Town, you will engage in a battle with Papyrus. If you want to clear the Papyrus battle without defeating him, keep avoiding his attacks and selecting "Spare" continuously. If you can avoid Papyrus' attacks for 19 turns, the battle will end.

Visiting Papyrus' House Triggers a Friendship Event

After finishing the battle without defeating Papyrus, visit Papyrus' house in Snowdin Town to trigger a Friendship event with him. The Friendship event with Papyrus is essential to solidify the P route selection. Make sure to trigger the event before going to Waterfall.
