Things to Do in N Route Waterfall

Organize Your Items

There are several dimensional boxes scattered throughout Waterfall, just like in Snowdin. Make sure to use them frequently to organize your items after collecting them. Waterfall is a vast area where you can obtain various recovery and equipment items.

You Can Choose to Defeat or Spare Monsters

If you have defeated at least one monster by the time you reach Snowdin and have not locked yourself into the Genocide Route at Ruins, you can proceed with the N Route. Alternatively, if you haven't defeated any monsters until Waterfall and choose to spare them all, you can also continue with the N Route. The choice of whether to spare or defeat monsters is up to you.

Moving Along the Route

After entering Waterfall, continue straight in the right direction. Along the way, there is a dimensional box used to organize your items.

Conversation Event With Sans

Talking to Sans at the reception triggers a conversation event at Grillby's in Snowdin. The conversation event is not necessary for the ending, but it's worth watching if you have time.

Obtaining "Old Tutu" Behind The Waterfall

Investigate the waterfall to access the area behind it and obtain the armor item "Old Tutu." Wearing it will slightly increase your durability, so make sure to get it.

Placing Seed Bridges on the Water Surface

Location of Seed Bridges	Arrangement

Take the Seed Bridges and arrange them on the water surface to create a bridge. When they are lined up in a row, flowers will bloom, allowing you to cross.

Placing Seed Bridges Vertically on the Water Surface

Take the Seed Bridge and arrange them from bottom to top. When they are lined up vertically, flowers will bloom across. If you make a mistake, ring the Bell on top of them and try again.

Obtaining Abandoned Quiche in the Hidden Area

Let the flowers flow into the puddle located at the bottom right, and they will turn into a bridge. They will allow you to proceed to the location of the hidden bench. Examine under the bench to obtain the "Abandoned Quiche".

Examining the Wall after Looking through the Telescope

Move to the right and look through the Telescope along the way to discover the words "Examine the wall upwards". Follow the hint and examine the wall ahead after moving to the path directly on top of the telescope. After advancing through the wall, step on the plank to proceed to the right.

Crossing the Bridge while Avoiding Spear Attacks

As you continue to the right on the bridge, Undyne will start attacking you with spears. Avoid them and continue straight ahead. When you reach the grassy area, an event will occur and Undyne's spear attacks will stop.

Move Along the Route

From the grassy area where you escaped Undyne's spears, proceed straight in the right direction. Along the way, you will encounter Sans, but talking to him or not will not affect the story. After the conversation with Sans, proceed to the bridge in the lower right corner from where Sans is located.

Enter the Cave to Purchase Nice Cream

When you enter the cave located to the right of where Sans is, you can purchase the healing item Nice Cream for 25G. For every Nice Cream you purchase, you will receive a Punch Card. You can exchange 3 Punch Cards for one Nice Cream.

Proceed to the Upper Right Where the Water Surface Shines

Proceed towards the upper right in the area where the water surface shines. If you have completed the Friendship event with Papyrus in Snowdin, you will encounter a conversation event with Papyrus along the way.

Go Left to Obtain "Ballet Shoes"

If you go left, you can obtain the weapon item "Ballet Shoes". Equipping it will slightly increase your attack power. It is recommended to obtain it if you plan on defeating monsters.

Move Along the Route

After passing through the shining water surface, continue straight in the right direction. Along the way, you will encounter a conversation event with Onionsan.

Battle with Shyren

To clear the battle with Shyren, you can either defeat her by attacking or choose the action "Hum" to soothe her and let her escape. Shyren will attack with musical notes from her mouth. They are not fast, so avoid them calmly.

Proceed Right Along the Path

After defeating Shyren, continue straight ahead to the right. Along the way, you can borrow an Umbrella. It is not necessary for the progression of the story.

If you borrow it, an event with Monster Kid will occur. After returning the Umbrella, let Monster Kid help you climb the steps and continue straight ahead.

Handing the Umbrella to Shyren Solves the Piano Puzzle

As you progress upwards in the area where Shyren was, there is a piano that you initially can't play well. Hand the Umbrella to Shyren and wait for about 10 seconds.

The way to play the piano will be displayed on the upper part of Shyren. Playing the piano will allow you to obtain a large amount of "Dog Residue" in a hidden area.

Proceed to the Lower Right While Avoiding Spear Attacks

After proceeding to the right for a while on the Great Bridge of Waterfall, you will start to be attacked by spears from under the bridge.

Avoid them and continue to the lower right. When you reach the dead end of the bridge, you will be dropped by Undyne and enter the Garbage Dump.

Battle Against Mad Dummy

Continue straight in the Garbage Dump and you will encounter Mad Dummy in battle. You cannot hit Mad Dummy and you cannot escape, but you can dodge Mad Dummy's magic attacks and counterattack. After a while, Napstablook will come to your aid and the battle will end.

Examine the Cooler to Obtain "Astronaut Food"

If you examine the cooler that is lying in the Garbage Dump, you can obtain the recovery item "Astronaut Food". This recovery item can be useful in the upcoming battle against Undyne, so make sure to get it.

Proceed to the Quiet Area to the Right

After passing through the Garbage Dump, proceed to the right going to the Quiet Area. There is a shop and a dimensional box to the right you can use to organize your items.

It is recommended to do so in preparation for the Undyne battle. "Sea Tea" is particularly helpful as it increases your movement speed during battles, so it is recommended to buy multiple.

Napstablook's House and Playable Mini-Games

If you proceed upwards in the Quiet Area, you can go to Napstablook's house. It is not necessary to go there for the story. However, you can listen to music and play a snail race called "Thundersnail" for 10G.

If You Have The Mystery Key, You Can Enter The Red House

If you have the "Mystery Key"(purchased at the shop next to the MTT Resort in Hotland), you can enter the Red House next to Napstablook's house. After clearing Hotland, if you have enough G, obtain the Mystery Key and visit the house.

You Can Visit Undyne's House After The Battle

You can visit Undyne's house after escaping to Hotland to end the battle with her. In order to have the Friendship event with Undyne, you need to have completed the Friendship event with Papyrus. If you haven't done so, return to Snowdin and complete it.

Progress While Illuminating With Mushrooms and Lanterns

After passing through the area with the shop, proceed while illuminating the path with mushrooms and lanterns. It is recommended to turn on lanterns before proceeding to avoid getting lost.

Go Down to the Bottom Right in the Mushroom Area to Reach Temmie Village

By going down to the bottom right in the area illuminated by mushrooms, you can reach the hidden area called "Temmie Village". In Temmie Village, there is a shop that sells limited and unique items. If you want to earn G, be sure to visit.

Proceed Along the Route

After proceeding while illuminating the path with mushrooms and lanterns, talk to the lone Echo Flower. After the event with Undyne and Monster Kid, proceed along the route.

The Content Varies Depending on the Choice with Monster Kid

After the event with Undyne and Monster Kid, there is a conversation event with Monster Kid after crossing the bridge. The content of the conversation varies depending on the choice, so choose your favorite.

Battle with Undyne

You will enter a battle with Undyne once you enter her arena. You can clear the battle by defeating or sparing Undyne. To finish without defeating her, continue to dodge her attacks until your soul turns red, then choose to flee. Repeat until you reach Hotland. The battle ends when you arrive at the Water Cooler.
