Things To Do at the CORE of the P Route

Prepare Recovery Items Before Proceeding

Before advancing through the CORE, replenish your recovery items at the shop next to the hotel or the shop inside the hotel. If it's difficult to purchase them at the shops around the CORE due to insufficient G. It is recommended to go back to Waterfall or Snowdin to buy recovery items.

End Battles Without Defeating Monsters

To ensure the P Route, do not defeat any monsters, Mettaton EX included. Note that if you defeat even one monster, gain 1 or more EXP, and increase your Lv by 1 or more, you will not be able to follow the P Route.

You will instead proceed to the N Route. it is recommended to end the battles by sparing or fleeing.

After the Mettaton EX Battle, Return to Hotland

To progress through the P Route, escape from Mettaton EX. Afterwards, return to Hotland instead of proceeding to New Home. However, if you have never cleared the N Route, you need to proceed to New Home and reach the ending in the N Route. Return to Hotland only if you have cleared the N Route at least once.

Purchasing Equipment and Items at the Shop

Before proceeding to the CORE, it is recommended to purchase recovery items at the shop next to the hotel or inside the hotel itself. If you don't have enough G to purchase items at the shops near the CORE, it is also recommended to go back to Waterfall or Snowdin to buy recovery items.

Proceed Left and Battle Madjick

After leaving the hotel and entering the CORE, you won't be able to enter the central elevator at first. Follow Alphys' instructions and proceed to the left to engage in a battle with Madjick. From the actions menu, choose "Stare" and then select "Chaser Orb" and "Corner Orb" respectively to spare Madjick.

Proceed to the Right While Being Cautious of Lasers

When you press the switch, the dead end will be removed, and the lasers will come towards you in the order of "blue → blue → orange". Similar to Hotland, you can pass through the orange laser while moving, and pass through the blue laser while stopping without taking any damage.

Proceed Upwards to Battle Knight Knight

After passing through the lasers, proceed upwards while following Alphys' instructions to engage Knight Knight in battle. After selecting "Sing" three times in the actions, you will be able to spare it and let it go.

Proceed Slowly While the Lasers are Stopped

After the battle with Knight Knight, proceed to the right and a conversation event with Alphys will occur. The blue laser will also start flashing. Proceed slowly to the right while the blue laser is stopped.

Move to the Left from the Save Point and Solve the Puzzle

Move to the left from the save point "CORE - Crossroads" and solve the puzzle. In the CORE puzzle, you can use two shots, so move the panels in the middle row horizontally to clear it.

You Can Proceed Even If You Press the Switch in the Back Right of the CORE

Even if you press the switch in the back right of the core, you can proceed. There are a lot of monsters along the way to the switch. However, if you're not good at puzzles, press the switch and proceed.

Return to the Save Point and Proceed to the Right

Return to the save point "CORE - Crossroads" and proceed in the order of "Right → Up → Right". There are many similar paths and it's easy to get lost, so it's a good idea to return to the save point if you're unsure.

Check the Trash Cans to Obtain Items

If you check the two trash cans in the back of the save point, you can obtain items. In the trash can in the back left, you can get a recovery item "Glamburger". In the other trash can in the back right, you can obtain 100G.

Fighting Mettaton EX

After crossing the bridge and advancing to the depths of the CORE, you will engage in a battle with Mettaton EX. Avoid Mettaton EX's attacks and use actions or items to raise the "ratings" in the top left corner of the screen to 12,000. When Mettaton's soul appears, attack it with the Yellow Soul to increase the ratings.

For First-Time Players, There is a Battle With Mettaton (3rd time)

For players on their first playthrough, they must engage in the third battle with Mettaton. Avoid attacking until Alphys gives instructions. Use the action "Flip" during the battle to end the third battle with Mettaton and proceed to the battle with Mettaton EX. On the second playthrough and onwards, the third battle with Mettaton can be skipped.

Return to the Entrance of the CORE Using the Elevator

Once you reach the save point "CORE - Entrance," the elevator will be activated, allowing you to return to the entrance of the CORE. If you are running low on recovery items, you can go back and restock.

Return to Hotland Instead of Proceeding to New Home

If you want to continue on the Pacifist Route, after defeating Mettaton EX and parting ways with Alphys, do not proceed to "New Home". Return to "Hotland" instead. If you have cleared the Friendship events with Papyrus and Undyne, Alphys' Friendship event will occur when you try to enter the hotel.

Clear the Date with Papyrus and Undyne

If you have not cleared the friendship events with Papyrus and Undyne before the Mettaton EX battle, try to clear them in the order of "Papyrus → Undyne". Papyrus can be found at his home in Snowdin, and Undyne can be found at her home in Waterfall.
