G Route Completion Requirements for the Core

Defeat 40 Monsters and Mettaton NEO

To progress through the CORE in the G Route, you need to defeat 40 monsters and the boss, Mettaton NEO. The number of monsters you defeat in the CORE can be combined with the ones you defeated in the previous area, Hotland. Check your kill count at the save point and aim to have it at 0 by the time you reach Mettaton NEO.

Recommended Encounter Locations in the CORE

Bridge before the Mettaton NEO Battle

To encounter monsters in the CORE, it's recommended to farm them in the area with the bridge before the boss, Mettaton NEO. The encounter rate decreases as you encounter more monsters in a single area, so if the encounter rate drops, head to the area on the left where the bridge is located to increase your chances of encountering monsters.

Get Recovery Items in the Hotel Lobby

You can purchase high-effect recovery items at the MTT-Brand Burger Emporium in the MTT Resort. Since recovery items are crucial for the upcoming Sans battle, make sure to organize your inventory by discarding unnecessary equipment. Also, be sure to buy the Legendary Hero and Steak in the Shape of Mettaton's Face.

Steal Items from the Back Alley Shop

In the back alley of the hotel, you can steal items just like in Snowdin, as there is no shopkeeper present. However, there are only useless items which are not really necessary.

Reset Kill Count Before the Boss Battle

If you still have not completed the kill count, go back and farm more enemies. It is recommended to go to LEFT1 via the elevator and proceed to the escalator area in Alphys's Lab. On the escalator, encounters happen automatically without any input, reducing the time spent on operations.

Go to the CORE when there are about 10 Enemies Left

When the kill count is about 10 enemies remaining, move to the CORE and find enemies there. This is because the encounter rate in Hotland significantly decreases, and it making it harded to finish the condition.

Defeating Mettaton NEO

Once your kill count reaches 0, proceed forward from the CORE and defeat Mettaton NEO. Since Mettaton NEO can be defeated in one hit, there is no preparation needed other than keeping your kill count at 0.
