G Route Completion Conditions in Waterfall

Defeat 18 Monsters and Bosses

To progress in the G Route in Waterfall, you must defeat a total of 18 monsters, including the mandatory battles against Shyren and Glad Dummy, which can only be fought once. Make sure to defeat them. If you defeat monsters other than the necessary bosses for the G Route, you will encounter them but receive the message "However, nobody came" and return to the exploration screen.

Recommended Encounters in Waterfall

Around the Mushroom Lamp Area

To level up through encounters in Snowdin before the Undyne battle, it is recommended to defeat monsters encountered while progressing through the relatively long map of Waterfall. Earn the remaining required kills around the Mushroom Lamp area.

Things to Do in Waterfall on the Genocide Route

Obtain Ballet Shoes

During the Genocide Route in Waterfall, make sure to obtain the equipment item "Ballet Shoes." The "Ballet Shoes" multiplies the attack bar to three instead of one. To increase your overall attack power, you must hit the bar in the middle until it flashes white gold. Be sure to obtain and equip the "Ballet Shoes" before the second Undyne attack.

Pick up the Abandoned Quiche

In the Genocide Route in Waterfall, pick up the "Abandoned Quiche" which can restore 34 HP. The boss "Undyne the Undying" that appears only in the Genocide Route in Waterfall is a very powerful enemy, so it is advisable to have multiple items with high healing effects.

Proceed Straight Until Undyne Event

Once you enter Waterfall from Snowdin, proceed straight while touching the save point. When you enter the tall grass area where the dimensional box is, an event with Undyne will occur.

Use Flowers in the Puddle Area to Obtain Abandoned Quiche

After completing the event with Undyne, continue to the right and enter the area with flowers. Let the four flowers flow on the ground into the puddle in the bottom right. The flowers will create platforms, allowing you to reach a bench. Examine under the bench to obtain the "Abandoned Quiche."

Proceed Straight and Ride the Moving Platforms

Continue upwards in the puddle area and proceed straight. You will be able to ride the moving platforms. After getting off the platforms and continuing forward, the second event with Undyne will occur.

Dodge Undyne's Attacks by Moving Back to the Left

When hit by Undyne's spear, you will be subjected to difficult-to-dodge spear attacks. Therefore, try to avoid them as much as possible while progressing. Undyne's spears are launched towards the direction the protagonist is moving when they are fired, so try to move to the right and then move back slightly to the left when the spears are fired to make it easier to dodge.

Obtain Ballet Shoes in the blue area

After avoiding Undyne's attacks and touching the save point, proceed to the right and head towards the blue glowing area.

If you examine the tall grass in the back left of the blue area, you can find the most powerful weapon that can be obtained before reaching Waterfall, the "Ballet Shoes." Be sure to obtain them to prepare for the boss battle.

Defeat Shyren

Shyren is an enemy that you will encounter in an area with a square hollow in the center of the image. It is a forced battle and you can only fight it once, but it can be defeated in one hit, so as long as you choose "Fight," you won't miss the opportunity to defeat it. Just make sure not to forget to encounter it.

Solve the Piano Puzzle with "●↑→●↓↓→" to Complete It

When you proceed to the area above where you fought Shyren, you will come to a place with a piano. The puzzle of the piano can be solved by using the statues and umbrellas found after progressing from Shyren's area, but it is also possible to input the answer from the beginning. Input "●↑→●↓↓→" to open the way to the hidden room.

Glad Dummy Battle Walkthrough

Proceed with the Monster Kid

After defeating Shyren, proceed to the right and continue along the path with the Monster Kid. There is a place where you can borrow an Umbrella along the way. It does not provide any advantage in the walkthrough, so feel free to choose.

Avoid Undyne's Attacks by Watching the Light at Your Feet

After separating from the Monster Kid, continue forward and Undyne will attack you. Spears will appear from the light at your feet, so avoid stepping on the lit areas and make your way towards the bottom right. Once you reach a dead end, Undyne will drop you down to the lower area.

Collecting Astronaut Food

If you drop into the Garbage Dump, proceed forward and examine the cooler to collect "Astronaut Food". "Astronaut Food" is an item that restores 21 HP and can be useful in boss battles such as Undyne or Sans.

The Donation Box Has No Special Meaning, It's Only for Trophy Acquisition

If you are playing the PS4 version and progressing through the G Route in Waterfall, there should be a donation box in the Garbage Dump area. The donation box in the G Route is a gimmick for obtaining a trophy, so no matter how much money you put in, nothing will change.

Defeating Mad Dummy

When trying to leave the Garbage Dump, you will be attacked by Mad Dummy, but they will become Glad Dummy after gaining a physical form through anger. They will thank the protagonist and let them go, but in order to progress through the G Route, you must defeat them without hesitation.

Undyne the Undying Battle Walkthrough Chart

Buy Items at Gerson's Shop

After defeating Glad Dummy, proceed to the next area and get the necessary items at Gerson's Shop. In particular, "Cloudy Glasses" and "Sea Tea" are very effective items against Undyne the Undying, the boss of Waterfall. Make sure to purchase them.

Proceed and Pass through the Mushroom Lamp Area

After purchasing items at Gerson's Shop, head right and make your way to the Mushroom Area. In this area, touching the glowing mushrooms will reveal the path. Follow the path and touch the mushrooms along the way. Once you reach the end, an event with Undyne will occur.

Reset the Kill Count to 0

After witnessing the event where Undyne takes the Monster Kid, defeat monsters until the kill count reaches 0. If the kill count is 10 or below, the Mushroom Lamp area will have relatively frequent encounters.

Defeating Undyne the Undying

In the Genocide Route, you will encounter a battle with Undyne the Undying. Undyne the Undying cannot be defeated in one hit and her attacks are relentless. Additionally, she is an extremely difficult enemy to defeat on your first attempt, so it is recommended to prepare items and gradually learn how to defend against her attacks through trial and error.
