Monster that Appears in the CORE in Normal Mode
Astigmatism is a monster that appears in the CORE in normal mode. Regardless of the route, you will encounter it in battle. If you are aiming for the Pacifist route, you need to spare it. If you are aiming for the Genocide route, you must defeat it.

Appears in Ruins in Hard Mode
Astigmatism appears in the Ruins only in hard mode. It attacks similarly to Loox, which appears in the Ruins in Normal Mode. In Hard Mode, there are no route branches, and the game ends after the Toriel battle in the Ruins. Therefore, it doesn't matter if you defeat or spare Astigmatism.

To spare Astigmatism, take note of the things it says. If Astigmatism says Pick On Me, then pick on Astigmatism when given the option. If Astigmatism says Don't pick on me, then choose the action Don't Pick On.
