Methods to Prevent Cheats
Report if You Discover Cheating
Reporting Procedure | |
---|---|
1 | Open the menu and select "Social" |
2 | Choose the target player from Social |
3 | Select "Report" in the menu |
4 | Choose "Cheating" in the relevant category and report |
If you see someone engaging in cheating behavior, report them immediately. Since it is not possible for one player to stop cheating behavior, reporting to the administration is the most effective countermeasure against players who clearly use cheats.
Report to the Administration via Email

Another method for cheat prevention is to report to the administration via email. While reporting in-game is important, reporting via email allows you to provide detailed information such as videos or images that show evidence of cheating. This makes it easier for the official team to take action.
Cheat Countermeasures by the Administration
6,618 Players Banned in October 2022
According to the report from the administration, a total of 6,618 players were banned in October 2022 for using "unauthorized programs (cheats)". The administration has announced that they will continue to implement cheat countermeasures and explore further measures.

Cheat Selling Company Ceases Sales due to Legal Action
The major cheat selling company, "riginbot," has announced that they will cease the sales and support of cheats after receiving a legal warning from Blizzard, the operator of Overwatch. While there are still many cheat selling companies, this marks a significant step towards cheat countermeasures.
Addressing Verbal Abuse from Voice Chat Recordings in Some Countries
In certain countries, a feature has been introduced exclusively for the PC version where voice chat (VC) recordings are initiated, and after recording instances of verbal abuse, the content is transcribed into text. This allows for more accurate handling of verbal abuse, and the voice recordings are temporary and deleted immediately after being addressed.

How to Identify Cheating
Use Replay to Confirm Suspicious Behavior
Steps to Confirm with Replay | |
---|---|
1 | Select "Records" from the main menu |
2 | Go to the "History" tab within the records |
3 | Select "Replay" from the history menu |
4 | Choose the match you want to watch and you can spectate the game from another player's perspective |
If you suspect a player of cheating, use the Replay feature to confirm. By using the Replay feature after the match, you can watch the gameplay from another player's perspective and easily determine if they are using cheats.
List of Cheating and Suspicious Behaviors
Cheating and Suspicious Behaviors |
---|
Aiming through walls |
Consistently tracking enemies with their aim |
Rapidly moving their viewpoint and instantly stopping the crosshair on the enemy's head |
Viewpoint moving as if the screen is switching |
Ultimately, Report to the Game Administration for Confirmation
If you are unable to distinguish between cheating and legitimate gameplay, it is recommended to report to the game administration for confirmation. If the reported player is not using cheats, no action will be taken. However, if they are using cheats, multiple reports may result in a ban. Therefore, it is best to leave the final confirmation to the game administration.
List of Reported Cheats
Reported Cheats
Cheat Name | Description |
---|---|
Auto Aim | Automatically tracks and aims at enemies, often resulting in all shots hitting regardless of distance. |
Wall Hack | Allows the player to see the position of enemies even when they are behind walls. Can also reveal the location of Sombra while she is in her transparent state, and some cheats even display the enemy's HP. |
Server Disconnect | There have been reports of cheats where players intentionally disconnect from the server right before a loss in Competitive Play, forcing the match to be declared a draw. |
