How to Adjust Controller Sensitivity
Controller Sensitivity Adjustment Steps | |
---|---|
1 | Press the Options button to open the menu. |
2 | Select Options from the menu. |
3 | Adjust the sensitivity in the General Settings section. |
It is recommended to gradually increase from low sensitivity
It is recommended to start with low sensitivity and gradually increase it. Instead of setting it to high sensitivity from the beginning, start with low sensitivity and find the sensitivity that suits you best.
Fine-tuning with the X button
You can fine-tune the sensitivity by long-pressing the X button. While you can only make changes in increments of 10 with the left and right arrow keys, long-pressing the X button allows you to make adjustments in increments of 1. So, for finding the optimal sensitivity, make sure to do some fine-tuning.
How to Change Aim Assist Sensitivity
Aim Assist Adjustment Steps | |
---|---|
1 | Open the General Settings section. |
2 | Navigate to "Vertical Sensitivity" and select "Detailed Settings". |
3 | The Aim Assist menu will be opened. |
The Aim Assist related options are not displayed from the beginning in the General Settings section. Be careful as you can only change the values after opening the Detailed Settings.
Recommended Aim Assist Settings
Setting | Recommended Setting and Description |
---|---|
Assist Strength | Recommended Setting: 100%Allows you to adjust the strength of the aim assist. Setting it to 0% turns off the aim assist, while setting it to 100% maximizes the strength. |
Assist Window Size | Recommended Setting: 100%Allows you to change the range for the aim assist activation. Setting it to 0% minimizes the range, while setting it to 100% maximizes the range. |
Legacy Aim Assist | Recommended Setting: OFFAllows you to change the behavior of the aim assist. Setting it to OFF activates the aim assist of OW2, while setting it to ON activates the aim assist of OW1. |
Assist Ease-In | Recommended Setting: 0%Allows you to adjust the sensitivity reduction when the aim assist is activated. Setting it to 0% drastically reduces the sensitivity, while setting it to 100% gradually reduces the sensitivity. |
Smoothing | Recommended Setting: Around 20%Allows you to adjust the acceleration of camera movement. Setting it close to 0% increases the acceleration, while setting it to 100% decreases the acceleration. |
Ease-In | Recommended Setting: Close to 0%Represents the precision of stick movement, similar to the "dead zone" in other FPS games. Setting it close to 0% allows for slight movements to be detected, while setting it to 100% reduces the responsiveness. |
Differences in Behavior with Legacy Aim Assist
Differences in Legacy Aim Assist | |
---|---|
ON | ・Aim assist that sticks to enemies |
OFF | ・Aim assist that reduces sensitivity |
Legacy Aim Assist allows you to change the aim assist between OW1 and OW2. The aim assist in OW1 brings the crosshair closer to enemies, while the aim assist in OW2 reduces sensitivity.
Change Ease-In for each character once you get used to it
When you get used to it, try changing the Aim Assist Ease-In for each character. For beginners, it is recommended to use 0% which is easier to adjust to an unfamiliar aim. However, for characters that require precise aim such as Sniper characters, it is easier to aim when the sensitivity is slightly lowered. So, once you get used to it, try changing the settings for each character.
Adjust Smoothing for each sensitivity
Adjust the Aim Smoothing for each sensitivity setting. Up to sensitivity 50, it is recommended to use around 20% acceleration. However, if you increase the sensitivity, the acceleration will also increase, which may lead to aim deviation. Therefore, after adjusting the sensitivity, reconsider the Aim Smoothing as well.
Recommended Sensitivity for Zoomed View
Can be changed from the control settings of scoped characters

Widowmaker |
Ana |
The sensitivity for scoped view can be changed from the control settings of the hero. Similar to the sensitivity, it is set in percentage (%), but it is a relative sensitivity to the original sensitivity. Be careful, as setting it to 100% will make the aim speed while scoped faster than usual.
Find the sensitivity that suits you
Find the sensitivity that suits you by gradually adjusting the values. Adjust the sensitivity through practice sessions and matches, and practice aiming so that the aim aligns with the intended location even when scoped, preventing any aim deviation.
How to Adjust Sensitivity
Check the Range of Movement when Turning
First, enter the practice area and move the stick left and right to check the range of movement. When checking, make sure that you align perfectly with your intended position or object, and if your aim is off, make further adjustments.
Try Moving while Aiming at Targets
Once you have checked the range of movement when turning, try moving while aiming at targets. If you overshoot the target when aligning your sights, the sensitivity is too high. Conversely, if you can't keep up with the target, the sensitivity is too low.
Shoot Bots while Moving
Once you can move while aligning your sights, try shooting bots while moving. Aim at the bots while incorporating jumps and make fine adjustments to the sensitivity until your shots hit.
