Basic Performance and Evaluation

High Attack Power

Hanzo has high attack power for both his primary attack and Ultimate. With abilities like "Taijutsu" (Physical Technique) and passive skill "Wall Climb,” Hanzo can secure advantageous positions and deal high damage as a character.

It's difficult to land attacks.

While Hanzo has high attack power, his primary weapon is a bow, making it difficult to hit moving enemies. Additionally, he needs to draw his bow, so he can't attack immediately, making him a high difficulty character for beginners.

Strategy Guide

Quickly move and snipe enemies from multiple angles

Hanzo utilizes his agility to snipe enemies from various angles rather than staying in one spot. Quickly secure high ground using wall climbing and acrobatics, flank the enemy's rear, and unleash firepower.

Use Sonic Arrow to reveal enemy positions to allies

Take an active approach in shooting Hanzo's Sonic Arrow to inform allies of enemy positions. The scouting range of the Sonic Arrow spreads out in a spherical shape, allowing you to detect enemies even behind walls. As soon as the cooldown is over, keep shooting the arrow to tilt the match in your favor.

Always attack towards the enemy

When playing as Hanzo, always prioritize attacking towards the enemy. Instead of focusing on hitting enemies, continuously fire arrows along their path to discourage them from moving forward. By aiming for headshots, there is also a high chance of getting kills. Therefore, it is crucial to constantly attack.

Countermeasures

Sigma to Counter Hanzo

Hanzo's main attack has high power, but Sigma can protect allies by deploying barriers. Additionally, Sigma excels in mid-range attacks, making it easy to deal damage to Hanzo and can be chosen as an anti-pick.

Snipe with Widowmaker

Snipe in a far distance with Widowmaker. This is perfect for Hanzo who may have high power and long range shots, but not as long as Widowmaker.

Combine Ultimates for maximum impact

Hanzo's Ultimate, "Dragonstrike" can deal massive damage to enemies in a straight line. Therefore, it pairs well with Zarya, who has an Ultimate that can gather enemies in one place.

Storm Arrows

Use when approached at close range

Storm Arrows is perfect when enemies are closing in. Hanzo’s main shot has a low rate of fire, but Storm Arrows exerts this power at a close range.

Effective for breaking shields

Storm Arrows are also effective for breaking shields. Even sturdy shields can be quickly depleted if you release five arrows rapidly with high firepower. So, if there are characters who put up shields, use Hanzo to break their shields.

Sonic Arrow

Scouting the Side Paths and Disrupting Flanking Attempts

Use Sonic Arrow to scout areas such as side paths that require caution and disrupt flanking attempts. By using Sonic Arrow to scout potential flanking routes, you can effectively prevent the enemy from executing successful flanks, making the battle much easier.

Gain Knowledge of Enemy Positions by Hitting Them

When you hit an enemy with Sonic Arrow, you will constantly be able to see their position for the duration of the effect. Hitting an enemy expands the scouting range, allowing you to also see the positions of other enemies. It is recommended to target characters with larger hitboxes such as tanks to better understand the enemy's movements.

Lunge

Jumping Between Platforms

Use your martial arts to jump between platforms. Hanzo is best when positioned from a high ground to shoot enemies. However, becoming stationary to one place will make him vulnerable. Consistently switch places for safe long distance attacks in higher grounds.

Use it to Dodge Attacks

Martial arts is also useful for evading attacks. Jumping from any direction is possible to dodge left or right. Jump backwards for some distance and avoid attacks while shooting back.

【ULT】Dragonstrike

Use it with Allied ULT

Dragonstrike is most effective when used in combination with an allied ultimate ability. When paired with a crowd control ultimate ability, it can prevent the enemy from escaping the high-powered continuous damage, resulting in potential kills.

Use it to cut off the enemy's retreat

Dragonstrike can also be used to cut off the enemy's escape route. The dragon that is released lasts for 5 seconds and deals damage to any enemy it touches. By blocking the retreat path when the enemy tries to evade, you can pursue and eliminate them without giving them a chance to escape.

Effective for dividing the enemy

Dragonstrike is also effective for dividing the enemy. By shooting it to separate the tank in the front from the enemies in the back, it acts as a damaging barrier. If you manage to defeat the tank while they are separated, the enemy has no choice but to retreat, buying your team the same amount of time as a Team Kill.
