Can grant healing and speed increases to nearby allies
Lucio is an easy-to-use character who can grant either recovery or speed increases just by being near allies. It only needs to be within the range centered around you, so you can naturally support your allies just by being near them, and you don't need to aim like other supports.
Top-class mobility
Lucio has top-class mobility among characters. Wallriding allows you to move faster than running on the ground, and is harder for enemies to target. It looks like it will be able to utilize its mobility to disturb the enemy while also recovering at the same time.
No long-distance recovery method
Lucio can recover range automatically, but has no means of long-distance recovery. If you are separated from your allies, you will not be able to provide any support, and it is not compatible with characters such as Pharah and Genji who attack while separated from their allies. You have the option to have your allies match you or change your character yourself.
Strategy Guide
Key Points for Strategy |
---|
Get your allies in the area of effect, avoid attacks by wall-running, and don't go forward alone. |
Include allies within the effective range
When playing as Lucio, let's make sure to include allies within his effective range. Lucio's effective range extends around himself, and within this range, he automatically grants speed boosts and healing to his allies. However, the effects do not reach beyond walls, so it's important to stay close to your teammates.
Avoid attacks by wall riding
When using Lucio, let's try to avoid attacks by wall riding. By pressing the jump button while using his passive skill Wall Ride, Lucio can run on walls, allowing you to avoid attacks while moving and escape from enemies. Always maintain awareness of wall riding to evade attacks.
Avoid going forward alone
When using Lucio, let's avoid going forward alone. Lucio has both mobility and firepower, but if you separate yourself from your teammates, you won't be able to provide support. Additionally, if you get eliminated, you'll cause trouble for your teammates. Therefore, it's best to move together with your allies, seize opportunities to advance, and quickly return to your teammates.
Countermeasures
Anti-Pick is Roadhog
Lucio has the passive ability to move along walls and a speed boost effect, making him a highly mobile support hero. As Roadhog, you can use "Chain Hook" to pull Lucio towards you and aim for a headshot kill. This makes him a good choice as an anti-pick hero.

Attacking together as a group
While Lucio has low attack power, his high mobility and self-healing ability make him highly resilient. It can be troublesome if he survives for a long time, especially during overtime. Therefore, it is recommended to use heroes such as Roadhog or Ana to stop his movements and quickly take him down.

Compatible Characters
Orisa
Team Up with Frontline Characters
Since Lucio can only support allies who are in close proximity, it's recommended to team up with frontline characters to advance. Characters like Winston and Reaper who move independently won't receive healing, so it's better to stick with Orisa or Soldier.

Effect of Amp It Up | |||
---|---|---|---|
Recovery Amount | 3 times | Movement Speed | 1.5 times |
Duration | 3 seconds | Cooldown Time | 12 seconds |
Effect | Amplifies the effects of currently playing music |
Use Amp It Up without hesitation when ally's HP is low
When an ally's HP is low, use Amp It Up without hesitation to heal. In Overwatch 2, even if one ally is killed, it puts the team at a disadvantage in terms of damage, support, and every aspect. Therefore, it is recommended to increase healing power without hesitation when an ally is in danger of being defeated in order to prevent kills.
Increase speed and attack in one go
Use Amp It Up to enhance Speed Boost and attack the enemy with the entire team. When the enemy is retreating or when they have taken advantageous positions such as high ground, increasing the speed and attacking with the entire team can overwhelm the enemy without enough response.

【ULT】Sound Barrier
Effect of Sound Barrier | |||
---|---|---|---|
Shield Value | 750 | Duration | 6 seconds |
Effect | Deploy a shield to protect nearby allies for a certain period of time |
Use as a counter for enemy ultimates
Sound Barrier is recommended to use as a counter for enemy ultimates. It provides a shield of 750 to the surrounding area, boosting durability and allowing you to withstand powerful enemy attacks. Assess the enemy composition to determine which ultimate to counter.
Note that it only activates when landing
Sound Barrier only activates when Lucio lands on the ground, so be careful. If activated from a high place or while being knocked back by an enemy, there is a possibility of being defeated by the enemy before landing. When activating, make sure to check your standing position and the absence of knockback characters among the enemies.
[Technique] Backward Wall Ride
Steps for Lucio's Backward Wall Ride | |
---|---|
1 | Open Lucio's individual control settings from the options |
2 | Turn on the ""Backward Wall Ride"" under the general section |
3 | Now you can perform a Wall Ride even when facing backward |
Let's modify Lucio's control settings to enable the Backward Wall Ride. With the ability to perform a Wall Ride facing backward, you can easily threaten enemies while retreating by keeping your view towards the front. It also allows you to participate in combat while capturing a base by running on walls.
