How to Decorate Your House
Placing Furniture with Conjuring Spell
Spell | Effect |
---|---|
Conjuring Spell |
By casting Conjuring Spell in the Room of Requirement, you can summon items to the location. |
Use the Conjuring Spell in the Room of Requirement to place acquired furniture. The Transfiguration Spells for Conjuring Spell can be obtained from chests or Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade . Acquired furniture can be viewed in the Conjuring Spell category in the collection.
Adjusting Size to Large with Up and Down Arrow Keys
Furniture placed by using the Conjuring spell can have adjustable sizes by using the up and down arrow keys. You can change their sizes from Large, Medium, or Small.
Disabling Snap by Holding L2
When placing furniture with Conjuring Spell, you can disable snap by holding L2. Snap is a feature that aligns furniture perfectly with the edges of an already placed furniture. Enabling snap allows for a well-balanced layout, while disabling it allows for a more random layout.
Altering Spell to Change Appearance
Spell | Effect |
---|---|
Altering Spell |
When cast in The Room of Requirement, it changes the shape and functionality of items. |
By using Altering Spell, you can change the appearance of furniture summoned by Conjuring Spell or existing furniture. There are four patterns to choose from: "Academic Style," "Botanical Style," "Eclectic Style," and "Gothic Style."
Only the Appearance of Existing Furniture can be Changed
Existing furniture such as ceilings, walls, and stairs can only have their appearance changed. While they cannot be removed, being able to choose from four different appearances allows you to completely transform the atmosphere of a room just by changing the appearance of existing furniture.
Evanesco to Remove Furniture
Spell | Effect |
---|---|
Evanesco |
When cast in The Room of Requirement, it removes items and allows you to obtain Moonstones. |
By using Evanesco, you can remove placed furniture. When furniture is removed, all the Moonstones used to place them are returned, allowing you to experiment with layouts without worrying about losing Moonstones.
Obtaining and Using Moonstones |
Focus with L2 to Remove Furniture
When using Evanesco, make sure to focus on the furniture you want to remove with L2. The Room of Requirement has many highlighted areas, so it can be difficult to target specific furniture without focusing with L2.
Tips for Layout
Determine the Brightness of the Room First
Natural Large Ground | Mysterious |
---|---|
Talk to Deek the House-Elf first before arranging the room layout in order to determine the brightness of the room. There are four levels of brightness for the room, with Natural Large Ground being the brightest and Mysterious being the darkest.
Brightness of the Room and Choices
Choices | Brightness |
---|---|
I want to theme it with Natural Large Ground | Bright |
I want a warm and cozy room | Slightly bright |
I want a room with beautiful moon lights | Slightly dark |
I want a dark and mysterious atmosphere | Dark |
Change the Appearance of the Provided Furniture
Once you have determined the brightness of the room, decide on the appearance of the provided furniture. Since the provided furniture is visible from any angle in the room, it is recommended to choose an appearance that matches the image of the room.
Start by Placing Large-sized furniture
After deciding on the appearance of the provided furniture, start by placing Large-sized furniture. Large-sized furniture not only adds a strong presence to the room, but also serves as a reference when placing external furniture using the snap function, so it is recommended to place them first.
Adjust the Entire Room with Small Items
Once you have placed the Large-sized furniture, adjust the entire room with small items. If you consider ease of movement, it is recommended to reduce the number of furniture placed on the Floors and increase the number of furniture placed on the wall.
Housing Unlock Conditions
Clear the main quest "The Room of Requirement"
The Room of Requirement is unlocked by clearing the main quest "The Room of Requirement". Use Transfiguration Spells to access various convenient facilities, so progress through the main quest to unlock it.
Equipment Enhancement and Animal Care will be unlocked later
Upgrading equipment and Beast Care will be unlocked by progressing through the "The Room of Requirement" Post-Game Quests and clearing "The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom". This makes it easier to earn money and enhance equipment, so aim to unlock it by progressing through the main quest.

How to Expand The Room of Requirement
Expandable Through Animal Breeding-related Quests
The Room of Requirement can be expanded by clearing Animal Breeding-related quests. The appearance will change significantly, so if you want to focus on housing, it is recommended to expand it to the largest size before deciding on the layout.
List of Quests Required for Animal Vivarium Expansions
Animal Vivarium | Unlocking Condition |
---|---|
Forest Vivarium | Main Quest: "The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom" |
Coastal Vivarium | Main Quest: "The High Keep" Side Quest: "The Plight of the House-Elf" |
Swamp Vivarium | Main Quest: "Lookwood's Trial" Side Quest: "Foal of the Dead" |
Meadow Vivarium | Main Quest: "Niamh Fitzgerald's Trial" Side Quest: "Phoenix Rising" |
Expand with Phoenix Rising to Unlock the Second Room
Clearing Phoenix Rising will expand the second room that can be accessed by going down the stairs. After expansion, the second room will have a larger area than the first room, so it is recommended to do large-scale housing in the second room.
