Thestral Den Locations

Northeast of the East North Ford Bog Floo Flame

Thestrals can be captured at a den located north of the East North Ford Bog Floo Flame. It's closer to Hogwarts compared to the den in the Coastal Mine by Marunweem Lake and has a higher number of Thestrals appearing. Unless you have a specific preference, it's recommended to capture them in this location.

East of the Coastal Mine by Marunweem Lake (Must clear Lodgok's Loyalty quest)

Thestrals can also be captured at a den located east of the Coastal Minesby Lake Marunween (Must clear Lodgok's Loyalty quest). It's slightly farther from the East South Sea Bog Floo Flame so it's recommended to travel on a broomstick.

How to Obtain the Thestral Mount

Obtained as a Bonus in the Dark Magic Pack

The Thestral mount, called "Sepulchria," can be obtained as a bonus in the Dark Magic Pack, an additional content that can be purchased from the character selection screen. To ride Sepulchria, you need to complete the main quest "The High Keep," so progress through the main quest to unlock the mount.

Thestral is required for the expansion of the breeding grounds in the side quest "Foal of the Dead." To progress the quest, you will need a male and a female Thestral, so it's recommended to capture them early on.
