Initially only capturable in the story

A Graphorn can be captured for the first time through the main story. It can be obtained towards the end of the San Bakar's Trial main quest. Until obtained in the main quest, it will not appear even if you go to its den, so prioritize progressing through the story.

From the second capture onwards, can be found at Clagmar Coast

From the second capture onwards, Graphorns can be captured at a den located in Clagmar Coast. It is located southeast of the Clagmar Castle Floo Flame, fast travel to the area and find the den via broom.

How to Capture a Graphorn

Defeat Graphorn in battle

To capture a Graphorn, you need to defeat it in battle. A Graphorn is resistant to spells like Depulso and Levioso, so try using damage spells like Incendio and Confringo to defeat it.

Dodging attacks by rolling is recommended

It is recommended to dodge a Graphorn's attacks by rolling. A Graphorn's attacks are often difficult to block with Protego, so watch its movements carefully and dodge by rolling.

How to Ride a Graphorn

Press the square button while holding L1 to ride

To ride a Graphorn, press the square button while holding L1. Graphorn excels at running on the ground but it cannot fly.

Charge dash is possible with L2 while riding

Pressing L2 while riding allows you to perform a charge dash. With a charge dash, you can blow enemies and obstacles away, making Graphorn very effective on the ground.
