Strengthen Incendio with Talent Points

If you have extra talent points, learn "Incendio Mastery" before attempting the quest. This will increase the attack range of Incendio to a large area, making it easier to safely defeat the spiders that appear in this quest and future quests.

Meet Sebastian by the Overlook

To start the main quest, "In the Shadow of the Mine," first talk to Sebastian by the Overlook located Northeast of Hogwarts. It's quickest to go from either Upper Hogsfield or Northeast of the East North Ford Bog Floo Flame. However, if both waypoints are locked, it's recommended to fly from Hogsmeade.

Go to the Entrance of the Mine while Battling

After the conversation with Sebastian, head towards the entrance of the mine to the Northeast. Since there is a Goblin's camp along the way, it is recommended to eliminate the poachers near the entrance one by one using Petrificus Totalus and continue.

Advance Deeper into the Mine while Battling the Goblins

Once inside the mine, defeat the goblins by the entrance and proceed to the left to defeat the goblins in the plaza. After defeating them, cast Wingardium Leviosa on the nearby wooden crates. Use them as platforms and climb to higher ground to continue.

Burn the Spider Webs to Obtain the Item on the Right Side of the Entrance

To obtain the item on the right side of the entrance, burn the spider webs using Incendio or Confringo, and then jump to collect it. If you try to proceed without burning the spider webs, you will fall into the abyss and it will be game over.

Battle the Spiders after Repairing the Bridge

After repairing the collapsed bridge using Reparo, you will engage in a battle with the Venomous Scurriours. Use Incendio to deal large damage and stun them for a long time, or use Transformation to defeat them in one hit and quickly eliminate them.

Defeat the Large group of enemies in the plaza

When you proceed from the bridge, you will encounter a large number of enemies in the plaza. After a while, reinforcements in the form of spiders will also appear, so quickly reduce their numbers by using Incendio, Transformation, or Ancient Magic. It is also effective to throw nearby gunpowder barrels with Ancient Magic Throw.

Burn the spider webs and solve the symbol puzzles

After defeating the large group of enemies, you can proceed by attacking the three symbol puzzles in the hall. However, the symbols on the north side and northwest side are obstructed by spider webs and cannot be attacked, so it is recommended to burn the webs in advance using Confringo or Incendio.

Obtain clues and talk to Sebastian

After advancing past the symbols and collecting the diary and canvas, talk to Sebastian to complete the conversation event. After the event, examine the entrance to the underground cathedral at the back of the room and insert the canvas into the Triptych to clear the quest.
