Near the Central Hall in the Library Annex

The frame is located in the Library Annex, near the Central Hall and can be accessed during the Like a Moth to a Frame quest. The moth can be found by facing the frame, going right, and descending the stairs near the wall.

Under the Stairs in the Ravenclaw Tower's Staircase

The frame is located under the stairs of the Ravenclaw Tower, accessible by using the nearby Floo Flame. The moth can be found in the room where the Ravenclaw Tower Floo Flame is located.

In front of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower

The frame is right in front of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower, accessible through the nearest Floo Flame. The moth is in Professor Fig's Classroom, right in front of you when you turn around.

Up the stairs from the Observatory Tower in the Astronomy Building

The frame is in the first room you reach after climbing the stairs from the Observatory in the Astronomy Tower, accessible through the nearest Floo Flame. The moth is further up the stairs and is on top of the blackboard on the top floor.

Down the Grand Staircase and to the right

The frame is in the passage in front of the toilets, accessed trough the nearest Floo Flame, after going down the Grand Staircase and turning right. The moth is in the passage to the right from the frame, then go straight until the end and turn left.

In the Great Hall

The frame is located in the Great Hall, accessed through the Floo Flame, when you turn around and open the door. The moth is clinging to the bottom of the window, deep inside the podium in the Great Hall.

The corner of the 2nd floor of the Library

The frame is located in the corner of the 2nd floor of the Library, accessed through the Floo Flame. The moth is on top of the campus, near the spiral staircase on the 2nd floor of the Library.

In the courtyard of the elevated bridge in the Great Hall

The frame is located in the courtyard of the elevated bridge in the Great Hall, accessed through the Floo Flame. It is located after going around the outer wall on the right side. The moth is near the statues around the courtyard, after climbing the stairs from the frame's location.

From the courtyard of the clock tower, go through the door next to it

The frame is located in the Depulso room immediately after entering the room through the door next to the Clock Tower Courtyard, crossing the connecting passage. Aim Depulso at the device on the large wooden map and enter. The moth is in the women's restroom at the end of the stairs to the left of the Depulso room.

Inside the level 1 locked door of the Clock Tower Courtyard

The frame is inside the door near where the Crossed Wands area was in the Clock Tower Courtyard, accessible by using the Floo Flame. The moth is located immediately after turning right when exiting the courtyard.

From the courtyard of the bell tower, go up the stairs on the right

Fast travel to the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame and enter the building. Go up the stairs on the right from the Suits of Armor. There is a frame at the end of the stairs after opening the door. The moth is clinging to a jar with wood inside, in the History of Magic Classroom beyond the vicinity of the frame, after opening the level 1 door with Alohomora.

From the north exit near the Bell Tower, turn around and go to the left cabin

Use the Hogwarts North Exit Floo Flame near the Bell Tower, and in the left cabin when you turn around, there is a frame after using Alohomora level 2. The moth is clinging to the wall when you go out of the cabin, proceed to the left of the Castle Ramparts and pass the stairs. It is recommended to use Revelio to find it as it is difficult to spot.

Pungent Passage near the West of the Bell Tower

Use Floo Powder to go to the west of the Bell Tower Building, and there is a frame in the Pungent Passage. The moth is perched on the centaur painting, right in front of the Floo FLame.

From the Trophy Room on the Grand Staircase

Get to the Trophy Room using Floo Powder and climb the Grand Staircase, there is a frame near the stairs before entering the Headmaster's Office. The moth is clinging to the frame on the way up the stairs from the Trophy Room.

In the corridor after descending the stairs from the Potions Classroom

Fast travel to the Potions Classroom Floo Flame to reach the Library Annex, there is a frame in the corridor after descending the stairs. The moth is further ahead, clinging to the troll exhibit.

Outside a house in Hogsmeade

Fast travel to Hogsmeade and you will find a frame leaning against the house in the northeast. The moth is on top of a box, southeast of the house.

Near the Hog's Head

Frame Location	Moth Location

To find the frame, fast travel to Hogsmeade and head to the Hog's Head. Go to the back of the house with the food stall nearby. The moth is on top of a box behind Hog's Head.

Inside Dogweed and Deathcap

Frame Location	Moth Location

There is a frame inside Dogweed and Deathcap which can be reached from North Hogsmeade Floo Flame. The moth is clinging to the chimney of the shop.

How to Solve the Moth and Frame Puzzle

Illuminate the picture frame with Lumos

To solve the puzzle, first illuminate the frame with Lumos. If the frame is not illuminated with Lumos, the moth will not appear. When you illuminate the frame with Lumos, the position of the moth will become visible, so move to the designated location.

Attract the moth with Lumos

Once you have identified the position of the moth, use Lumos to attract it. Note that Lumos will be deactivated when you climb stairs, so proceed on a flat path.

Deactivate Lumos near the picture frame

Bring the moth near the frame and deactivate Lumos to solve the puzzle. Lumos can be deactivated by attacking or reacasting it.
