Get Familiar with Unlocking with Alohomora

In "The Caretaker's Lunar Lament," you can learn the unlocking spell Alohomora. To unlock, rotate the outer ring with the R stick and the inner ring with the L stick, and keep both rings in the correct position. It is a useful magic for item collection, but the controls are unique, so get used to it during the quest.

Level Up with Demiguise Collection

With the initial Alohomora, you can only unlock level 1 keys. If you want to open higher-level keys, collect "Demiguise Moons" scattered throughout the map, progress through the sub quest "The Man Behind the Moons," and learn higher-level Alohomora.

Climb the Large Staircase and Talk to Professor Moon

"The Caretaker's Lunar Lament" can be started by talking to Professor Moon at the Large Staircase in Hogwarts. Use fast travel to "Large Hallway" or "Large Staircase" and climb the stairs to reach your destination.

The locked doors near your destination require solving a puzzle by aligning the number in the center of the door with the sum of the three surrounding symbols. This puzzle is not necessary to complete "The Caretaker's Lunar Lament," but if you're curious, check the individual article for the solution.

Chasing Professor Moon while Collecting Demiguise Moons

When you talk to Professor Moon, follow him while collecting the "Demiguise Moons" that can only be collected at night. Once you reach the Faculty Tower, Professor Moon will ask you to gather the Demiguise Moons, and the story will progress.

Unlocking the Faculty Tower door with Alohomora

After learning Alohomora in the event, enter the Faculty Tower by opening the door. To unlock the Level 1 lock, chant Alohomora in front of it and rotate the red ring to 6 o'clock and the green ring to 10 o'clock. Maintain its position.

Ascending to the Upper Floors While Using Disillusionment

Since there are prefects and teachers patrolling the Faculty Tower, use Disillusionment to hide while aiming for the upper floors. If you are about to be discovered, wait until you are far away and their gaze is diverted, or use Aim mode to cast Basic Cast on walls or floors to distract them and proceed.

Collecting the Demiguise Moon in the Prefects' Bathroom

After climbing the staircase and reaching the bathroom, make sure the prefects are heading to the left side. Then unlock the door and enter the bathroom. Once inside the bathroom, if there are no prefects on the left side, you can go around and collect the Demiguise Moon at the back of the room.

Taking the Demiguise's Moon in the Infirmary

After collecting the Demiguise's Moon in the bathroom, head up the spiral staircase and make your way to the infirmary on the left side. After entering the infirmary, wait a few seconds for Brains to start walking towards the staircase. It is recommended to quickly aim for the back of the infirmary once you finish climbing the stairs.

Note that Professor Weasley and Professor Garlic will also move towards the staircase as soon as their conversation ends. If you wait at the entrance of the infirmary, you will be caught in a crossfire between prefects and professors, resulting in a game over. Therefore, it is best to hurry towards the back.

Sneak back and Talk to Professor Moon

After collecting the Demiguise's Moon in the infirmary, wait for Professor Weasley and Professor Garlic to move before turning back. If you can make it to Professor Moon while diverting the attention of the prefects along the way, the quest will be completed.
