Clear Trials of Merlin
To expand your equipment slots, you need to clear Trials of Merlin and progress in the challenge. Trials of Merlin is a mini-game where you solve puzzles that exist in various parts of the world. The location of Trials of Merlin is marked on the map identified by the white leaf symbol.
Mallowsweet is Required for Trial Challenges
To challenge Trials of Merlin, you need Mallowsweet. Mallowsweet can be obtained by growing plants unlocked by clearing Herbology Class, so purchase seeds at The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade and grow them.

Receive Rewards from Challenge Search
After clearing Trials of Merlin, select search from the challenge menu and receive rewards for the number of Trials of Merlin cleared. The equipment slots will not expand until you receive the rewards from the challenge menu, so it is recommended to open the menu and check when the challenge progress is displayed in the upper right corner.

Sell Equipment Regularly
When your equipment slots are full, sell your equipment. Equipment with low levels and quality that you don't have any use for can be sold. Once you have obtained equipment, you can still use it for its appearance, so it is recommended to sell unused equipment regularly.
Sell Low-Quality Equipment
Equipment that has lower stat adjustments and lower quality than your current equipment should be sold without hesitation. Especially equipment with "Standard" and "Fine" quality cannot be enhanced, so they have no expandability and no purpose in keeping them.

Discard Equipment
When your equipment slots are full, such as in a dungeon, discard equipment with low selling prices. To discard the equipment, hover the cursor over the equipment you want to discard and hold down the L3 stick.
However, discarded equipment does not drop on the spot and disappears, so it is the last resort when you cannot pick up new equipment. Before challenging dungeons, expand your equipment slots and sell your equipment regularly.
